Ann Coulter Calls Huckabee a 'Christian Liberal' (on Huck's show!)
The Atlantic ^ | 10/12/10 | John Hudson

Ann Coulter has a taxonomy problem. For her, pretty much anyone to the left of Rush Limbaugh is a liberal. And if they're a liberal, they can't be Christian. So what does that make Mike Huckabee, who's an ordained Southern Baptist minister and slightly to the left of Limbaugh? We found out last night when Coulter appeared on Huckabee's show: (video at link)

Ann nails him. Hopefully, she won't pretend that flipper is a conservative this time.

If this helps take Huck out of the upcoming presidential race she’ll have done us all a very big favor.

Ask Harry Reid if there are any Liberal Mormons.

The liberal Atlantic riding to Chucklebee’s rescue.

Ain’t that the truth. Huckabee is a political nanny with a program that is Bush’s Compassionate Conservatism on steroids. And combines it with a Jimmy Carter foreign policy and amnesty for both illegals and criminals. Huckabee is the one candidate who, if the GOP nominated him, I might sit the election out.

Well, his record as governor of Arkansas is perfectly clear. He is a liberal, through and through. Not just what he says, but what he DOES.

Well, she's right. What's ironic is that Huck isn't even that much of a social liberal, despite the usual assumptions. Just look at his stances on immigration and law-and-order issues (which are also "social" issues).

Huck a Liberal? Not so sure, but he certainly is a RINO.

Ok. I’ll say it.

Right or not, there are way too many Lib targets that need a pummelling right now. Particularly, right now.

I think Ann’s ire is better directed towards the Barney Franks, Nancy Pelosis and the Harry Reids of the world - the ones in power who are doing the most damage.

Spending even a few seconds on Huck - who I think doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in Hades of getting through the primary - is simply a waste of time and a waste of good ammo.

I love how Huck thinks he’s the Tea Party fav these days.

His record as governor was not one of fiscal conservatism.

He is a conservative on social issues, which I applaud. But, he leans Marxist on other issues such as amnesty and pardons for criminals and education, etc.

He would make a very bad nominee, but I probably would support him over a Mitt Romney if it (unfortunately) came down to those two.

I don’t think it’s so much that the Atlantic is riding to Huck’s rescue as they’re using a vague point (the difference between Liberal Christians and “Christian” Liberals) to try to attack Ann because of her earlier statement that you cannot be a Liberal and a Christian at the same time.

Nanny Huckabee vs. Flip-Flop Romney? God, what a nightmare. That’s when I go third party.

Huck has no chance of winning the nomination but that does not mean we should give him a pass until then. Our goal should be to eliminate liberals from consideration early and have the primaries be a contest among conservatives. Otherwise we risk a repeat of 2008 where the RINOs suck up all of the money and attention and we end up with one of them as our nominee.

I don’t think she thought Romney was conservative, just more conservative than that vile little man, McCain.

Spending time on Huchabee was no problem, I mean she was a guest on his show so why not use his time to let him know what she thought? As far as the rest of the people you named everyone knows where they stand and only their hard core followers will vote for em. After the last two years of seeing the lying ignorant pelosi and the arrogant Ried in operation anyone still voting for them can not be helped anyway.

The way to avoid having to choose our nominee from between Mittens and the Huckster is for all right-thinking Americans to denounce both of them unreservedly now.
