Barney Frank, immersed in one of the toughest political fights of his career, took a free private jet to the Virgin Islands courtesy of a Maine congresswomans billionaire ...whose company received a $200 million federal bailout, the Herald has learned.
Frank, whos facing feisty Republican challenger Sean Bielat, flew to the tropical paradise for a vacation in 2009 on a $25 million jet owned by Paloma Partners honcho S. Donald Sussman, the fianc...of U.S. Rep. Chellie Pingree (D-Maine). Paloma Securities a subsidiary of Sussmans Greenwich, Conn.-based hedge fund received $200 million in 2009 as part of the $180 billion federal bailout of troubled insurance giant AIG, records show...
Frank, who chairs the House Financial Services Committee, said his partner, Jim Ready, lives in Pingrees district and the couples are personal friends.
Republican National Committee spokesman Parish Braden said: Barney Franks acceptance of a lavish gift from a hedge fund manager, an industry he is responsible for regulating, is a troubling conflict of interest that raises serious questions about his judgment.

Now this...
2500 pages of crap, no Fannie and Freddie reform and he is taking junkets.
Maybe if this gets enough airplay in his district he is finally political Toast....
BTW.... Read the “Comments” in the story over @ the Herald...
The thing is, these congresscriminals don’t see what the big deal is with these “free rides” because if we only knew what was “really going on” we would see how silly it is to worry over a “free ride”. So from their perspective the free ride is no big deal and they haven’t been caught (yet) for what is ACTUALLY taking place and more than likely it is covered by some “loophole” in case it ever does come to light. So, they all have the same look when the camera gets shoved in their face, “This is no big deal.” Next time they should be asked, “Then what IS the BIG DEAL.”
Virgin Islands, my a$$.
Virgin Islands, a$$.
Virgin a$$.
Anything Butt !!!!
” Read the Comments ‘
I read 87 comments. There were two pro Frank comments. He’ll most likely still win though. Unfortunately.
Now that was good.
I’m getting a headache from laughing so hard this morning.
Freepers are on a roll this morning with the remarks.
And I’m lovin’ it.

From what I hear Barney's district has a high concentration of those with a Jewish heritage (tell me if my data is incorrect) The swing noted in the link, does not move in his direction. In my social circles (many of the Jewish faith) I am noticing the fissures, i.e one liberal in particular is getting more concerned and outspoken about a certain brand of terrorism from certain factions shall we say....
td,
I’m getting a “Document does not exist” message at your link.
Doc
My way to try is to send a buck or two to Mr. Franks opponent. Scott Bailet is a Marine, 35 years old and well spoken. It doesn’t matter if he’s even a luke warm conservative, seeing Barney out the door would be so wonderful. Bailet has an easy way to make donations on his web site.
