Rep. Bright (D-Al) ad: My constituents 'don't want a liberal running the House' (Runnin' scared)

Rep. Bobby Bright (D-Ala.) took aim at House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) in his latest campaign ad, saying, "I've heard my constituents and they don't want a liberal running the House. They want a conservative."

In the 30-second spot, Bright highlights his recent proclamation that he won't vote for Pelosi again as Speaker of the House. Instead, Bright says he'll vote for the person who will allow him to best represent his constituents.

Bright also vows in the ad to help repeal the healthcare law, noting that "anyone who tells you otherwise is just downright lying."

Last week, Bright pledged to not vote for Pelosi as Speaker should Democrats retain their majority after November's midterm elections.

Bright faces a tough reelection fight against Republican Martha Roby in one of the most conservative districts in the country. His last TV spot featured a photo of him next to one of House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) and claimed that Bright voted with the Republican leader 80 percent of the time.

"I've heard my constituents and they don't want a liberal running the House. They want a conservative."

-And they also don't want a Democrat who voted in favor of nationalizing the student loan industry, the big spending FY09 Omnibus bill, and Cash for Clunkers...

Marthy Roby should walk all over this guy. His fingerprints are all over the weapon and he says “yeah, but the weapon belongs to my sister.” Some defense.

Not vote for Pelosi for Speaker? Well, who is he voting for? Boehner? Or some ‘conservative’ Democrat? Whatta sham. No one is buy this. The leftist NY Times projects Bright as having a 28.7% chance of winning right now.

What does this mean "he'll vote for the person (for Speaker) who will allow him to best represent his constituents? Sure sounds like he's being told how he has to vote by San Fran Nan.

Shelby is a Rat-at-heart, converted Rat because he was one of the first to read the tea leaves correctly. He has passed the Bubba Clinton School Political Survival and Expediency. Ever so often, a little of the Rat shows.

I vote for him while holding my nose.

“Not vote for Pelosi for Speaker? Well, who is he voting for?”

Good question.

(Maybe Bobby has an imaginary friend he plans on supporting...)

My brother had to do security for Bobby Bright in Iraq...he couldn’t figure out why he was a dem. He actually liked him, and he had seen his fair share of Congress Critters.

“Not Voting for Pelosi” is meaningless....so she gets the majority anyway? Unless these RATS say they would vote for the Republican opponent, then “not voting” for Pelosi is just like saying, “I pass” ...she gets 216 votes, 5 passes, wins the most

Bright probably would qualify as one of the last of an endangered species: the conservative Dim. He was mayor of Montgomery as a Dim, and there are still many in Alabama running for local, and even a few for statewide offices, as conservative Dims.

But it doesn't work when they run for Congress, and Bright should realize that and switch parties, or be defeated by the Republican.

Seriously? There is justice. Bright is an absolute idiot and sellout.

Bright highlights his recent proclamation that he won't vote for Pelosi again as Speaker of the House.

2 things:

1) He won't even have the chance! But will he vote for her for Minority Leader?
2) Again!?!?!? I'm supposed to ignore that you voted for her last time? How can you fix that epically stupid vote?

”Photobucket" Whether we capture with house of Congress, which I hope we do, the defeat of Pelosi and Reid would be worth its weight in gold....from a symbolic point of view, as much as a strategic.

Bright is a dim because Montgomery proper is becoming more and more black. He needed the black vote. He's okay, but I'm voting for Robey.

Why do Southern mothers give their sons children’s first names that last into adulthood?

I disagree;the Obamacare vote proved there are no “conservative” Dims-they all have different prices to sell their voters out for.

Bright did not vote for Obamacare. None in the Alabama congressional delegation voted for it, including the one black congressman (who was running for governor).
