How bad is it for the Democrats?
So bad that they "began a strategy of triage on Monday to fortify candidates who they believe stand the best chance of survival," the New York Times reports today.
So bad that this is the second "triage" story to appear in the Times. We noted the first Sept. 7.
So bad that the Cook Political Report yesterday downgraded Rep. Barney Frank, the disheveled, fast-talking Democrat from Massachusetts, from "safe" to "likely" Democratic. Four other representatives were dealt the same indignity: Raul Grijalva (Ariz.), Jim Oberstar (Minn.), Ben Ray Lujan (N.M.) and Solomon Ortiz (Texas).
We noted yesterday that Frank, Grijalva and John Dingell (Mich.) may be in some danger. Cook still lists Dingell, who has been re-elected 27 times, as safe, so there's some good news for the donks.

I just have a vision of Harry Reid, Joe Biden, John Kerry, Nancy Pelosi and Barney Franke fighting tooth and Nail for the same water pill.

I think the results of these upcoming elections are going to be bigger than we are expecting them to be. We shall see in three weeks.

I didn't know right off....if he was a Dim or a Pubbie. I asked him...and he said "Will it make a difference?" I said yes. And preceded to tell him why....
He admitted to me..that he votes Pubbie quite a bit...and he felt he couldn't get elected here running as a Pubbie. I pointed out that he should run like he thinks...and not how he thinks he can "get elected".
I was nice...and so was he...but I think I made him think.

If Barney Fag, I mean, Frank, loses, I’m going to...well, I don’t know what i’m going to do. But it’s going to involve celebrating!
