The severed head of a Mexican investigator involved in the Falcon Reservoir case was delivered to the Mexican army today, according to state Rep. Aaron Peña, D-Edinburg.
Peña reported via Twitter that he had confirmed the information with Zapata County Sheriff Sigifredo Gonzalez, whose office is heading the U.S. investigation into the Sept. 30 disappearance of David Michael Hartley.
The 30-year-old McAllen man is widely believed dead after what his wife, Tiffany Young-Hartley, has described as an attack by cartel "pirates" on the Mexican side of the binational waterway.

See my post #95 up thread.
“Looking at the barrel of the gun is all I saw,” she said on NBC. “I was pretty focused there. I couldn’t tell you what they look like. They were within the length of my Jet Ski of me, which is about 10 feet.”
She said she doesn’t know why she was spared.

Possible or the plan was to chase her back to the US side so she could have someone see the chase from the US side. The witness you know.

Blarney,
You don’t seem to trust women very much.
Any particular reason?

So you think the wife had him killed. I am not ready to go there.

Unfortunately some men have had such poor relationships with women that they’d rather believe foreign criminals than a fellow citizen who is female.
Actually the foreign criminals haven’t even denied they killed the guy.
Still, the wife must be guilty!
It can’t bet easy carrying all that interpersonal baggage around. LOL
To: ladyjane
You assume this because I won’t say who is guilty at this point?
I would say that’s a hinky thing to say but then I would have a couple of folks spazzing out again on this thread.
:)

Blarney - you Irishmen are so cute.
Stubborn but cute.
Cautious too. Maybe that’s a good thing when it comes to relationships.
To: ladyjane
Thank ya ma’am.
Yes stubborn.
Hopefully cute.
Yes I am very cautious, I tend to not judge things like this till things come to light.

-Someone said her jet ski was faster than their boat.-
In her interview with Greta Van Sustern, there is this:
"Van Susteren: When you were doing that, when you were attempting to help your husband, where were those other boats?
Hartley: Two were in front of me, uh, quite a ways a way. And one actually came up to my boat er, my jet ski. And they had pointed the gun at me and they were talking amongst each other and pointed it back at me. And then they decided to leave and meet up with the other two boats.
Van Susteren: Did you say anything to them?
Hartley: Yeah, I told them please dont shoot, dont shoot."
As mentioned above, she said in a Today interview they were approx 10 feet away from her.So how was that outrunning the pirates in her faster jet ski? In addition - if, in a sudden fit of decency and goodwill toward men, they decided not to shoot her and instead just leave, that doesn't jive with her story of escaping amid gunfire.

I’m not going anywhere as of yet. Too much unanswered including him still being alive only to change his identity. At this stage I’d not be surprised as to any outcome that proves to be true.

Yup, this is an odd case. I wouldn't lay my bet on anything right now. Has to play out more.

Since you know so much sbout that lake I think I’ll invite you down for a little boat ride. Hell, you can even borrow my boat and why don’t you take my sister along with you while you’re at it.
If you make it back, you can give us a full report. (It’s imperative that you stay on the U.S. side for insurance purposes however.)

It’s supposed to be that way but I see a lot of folks pointing fingers already without knowing the whole story. It’s not a good way to be fair, never assume someone is guilty always be sure.

"I havent seen any interviews that she has done. So what do you think is going on?"
I have no idea or theories, Ditter. But the wife's differing stories are puzzling: e.g. the pirates coming up next to her jet ski, her being able to converse with them ("don't shoot"), them discussing things over then just leaving her vs. her outracing them with ammo flying all around her as she escaped. Those are two odd endings for anyone to mix up.
If something happened in some form she described and if suspects were captured & tried for the crime such contradictory accounts would easily be picked apart by even the dumbest of defense attorneys, as you can well imagine.
There also could be a problem with what little physical evidence exists: her jet ski & the lifejacket that had a microscopic stain on it. It would seem they were given back to her instead of being kept as evidence - here she displays both to
NBC's Today show in an exclusive showing If things ever came to a criminal court the question of evidence custody could be an issue, the items should have remained in police custody at least until after a trial. Very sloppy police procedure that may come back to haunt.

Costa Rica if you want to leave the country. Lots of places within the US. And you don’t have the language problem here (not to mention the beheadings)!

It is an odd story and there are so many things that don’t jibe in all this.
Her story is very hinky to say the least and her issue with how the story has changed is odd.
How did the guys leave her be and go meet up with others, last week when the witness came out he corroborated the story she was being chased. How was she being chased if they left her?
This is just plain hinky to say the least. Hopefully this gets figured out and settled.
