Seventy-Five Seats! Do I Hear 80?
Commentary Magazine ^ | 10/12/2010 | Jennifer Rubin

So much for the storyline that the Democrats have turned the corner in the midterm races. The New York Times tells us:

Republicans are expanding the battle for the House into districts that Democrats had once considered relatively safe, while Democrats began a strategy of triage

Good news, so let's keep up the pressure. Let's see if we can make this over 80 in the house and as many in the senate as possible. Neuter the Obamacrats in November.

The day that overstratched *itch hands the gavel over because her arrogance lost her party the House, I plan on DVR’ing that event so that everytime I am feeling down I can look at it again and smile.

I hope to DVR as much of the late night political coverage on Nov 2nd into the wee hours of the next morning.

Just to be able to watch the misery in the newsrooms over and over for a few days.........shadenfreude is a great term.

Polls seem to be a way to allow politicians to count their chickens before they hatch.

Don’t get me wrong, I am encouraged, but it ain’t over till it’s over. Chicken counting time is later.

My minimum several weeks ago was 80 and 8. I’ll not raise that projection but rather on November 2 I’ll enjoy watching myself proved timid and over-cautious.

Will 80 be enough?

Hopefully, we'll be hearing something like this:

"Some thoughts on those angry voters. Ask parents of any two-year-old and they can tell you about those temper tantrums: the stomping feet, the rolling eyes, the screaming. It's clear that the anger controls the child and not the other way around. It's the job of the parent to teach the child to control the anger and channel it in a positive way. Imagine a nation full of uncontrolled two-year-old rage. The voters had a temper tantrum last week....Parenting and governing don't have to be dirty words: the nation can't be run by an angry two-year-old." -- ABC World News Tonight anchor Peter Jennings in his daily ABC Radio commentary, November 14, 1994.

Dick Morris thinks 100 seats is not out of the question. I hope he doesn’t have his foot in his mouth. (I know, I know....)

Once again, as they did in the clinton years, the Democrats have taken their power and greedily jumped into the sewer with it.

Unfortunately, the usual Republican response has been to join them there.

Let’s just hope we get enough good Tea Party types into office so this time will be different. Above all, we need to repeal or defund Obamacare pronto, before it starts to take effect.

Since the time of Woodrow Wilson and FDR and LBJ, the Republicans have NEVER reversed any of those big government expansions. Will this time be different? We’d better hope so, because time has run out.

I want to watch MSNBC on election night to see how Rachel Maddow, Olbermann, Ed Schultz, the morning Joe crew, etc. handle all the “bad” election night news. They will be seeing their liberal utopian dreams fading away, and have to try to be somewhat professional as they will be on TV reporting the news.

What will liberals do now that their liberal dreams will fade out? They might have to watch reruns of “The West Wing” to see how life should be when you have a good liberal president and liberal Congress, all working together for the common good. I think reality bit the liberals in the butt as we see their dreams didn’t come true, even with a good liberal president and good liberals in charge of both houses of Congress.

Well, I would like to see Melissa Haluszczak defeat the Democrat stooge, Mike Doyle in PA-14 (Pittsburgh).

http://www.melissaforcongress.com

We’ve had a Democrat stooge here for all of my adult life.

Doyle is the one who convinced the Stupak anti-abortion group to swallow Obama’s “Executive Order” crap. This enabled healthcare to pass.

Melissa is a great conservative. She deserves a chance. But needs a little help (financial). Can you give $10, $20 or a little bit more?
