The lonely president. Barack Obama is increasingly isolated, and scorned by his own supporters
Telegraph UK ^ | 10/11/10 | Niles Gardiner

“Isolated, insular, arrogant and clueless.” These are not the words of Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck, two of America’s fiercest critics of the Obama administration. It is the blunt assessment of the Obama White House by Mark Halperin, editor-at-large and senior political analyst for Time Magazine, for decades a publication at the very heart of the liberal media establishment, and owned by Time Warner, the parent company of CNN.

For anyone who still doubts that Barack Obama is in serious trouble, take a look at Halperin’s searing article, “Why Obama is Losing the Political War”, which is nothing short of a damning indictment of the president’s first 20 months in office. Here’s what Halperin has to say in the latest issue of Time:

Barack Obama is being politically crushed in a vise. From above, by elite opinion about his competence. From below, by mass anger and anxiety over unemployment. And it is too late for him to do anything about this predicament until after November’s elections.

Barry has totally lost it. He’s showing up at rallies using his 2008 Axelrod drafted teleprompter speech attacking the evil Bush and his henchmen. He’s temporarily stopped talking about his corrosive ideas attacking taxpayers and is just concentrating on his comically irrelevant demonizing and finger-pointing as if the Dems haven’t been running the bankrupt show for the past two years.

He's making the libs fondly pine for the days of Jimmuh's malaise.

But can you picture BO wearing a sweater and having a TV "fireside chat" with the nation?

The bleeping fools. We knew this 2 years ago and did everything to stop it then. But they ridiculed us.

We saw this fool as the empty suit he was and is. They should be banned from voting for the next 20 years.

Just wait till the pubs have the house and senate. Obama will NOT be able to handle it.

The Time article was scathing but it had the usual blather about how tough it was when he inherited his job. I’ve never understood how you inherited anything when you ran for the office for more than two years.

It seems to me that presidential candidates should commit to a date into their administration when they will no longer blame the prior administration for their problems. 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, when? This guy could get re-elected and be blaming Bush after 7 years.

By the way, I never remember any public statement by Bush blaming Clinton for any of his administration’s problems.

That is because Bush has class.

"Barack Obama cuts an increasingly lonely and forlorn figure in the White House, unloved by his country, and scorned by many of his closest supporters. Not exactly the change he had been hoping for."

Well, since all Obongo does is trash his country, it's people, its traditions, its Christian heritage, its economic system, and its founders, what the hell does he expect! (And BTW, Obongo knows that America isn't his country. He'd feel much more at home in Mugabe's Zimbabwe.)

“Isolated, insular, arrogant and clueless.”

The first two terms have the same meaning and are redundant [/s]. I'd substitute "ignorant", "incompetent", or "inept" for one of them.

Not much will change since most Republican politicians are just seat warmers collecting $200k/year pay checks.

My sentiments exactly—he is very thin skinned and he brought everything on himself if he would have been honest with he American electorate during the 2008 and mentioned that he wanted to change America into a Socialist utopia he would not have been elected thereby saving himself from ridicule.

On the flip side, Halperin wears kneepads for the Clintons. This could very well be the foundation for Hillary’s 2012 run.

“We saw this fool as the empty suit he was and is.”

I differ. This “empty suit” has been the most successful radical politician since Mao, if you measure success by how many people were placed under the thumb of the government during his reign.

Pastor Manning was not just engaged in hyperbole when he called Barky a long legged mack daddy. He knew him and his type. The dude’s a 52 round of golf playing pimp scammer. He was only successful with the initial con. He is now an embarassment to other scammers like this journalism pimp.

I really think he doesn't care, one way or another.

He's just following his favorite book: 'Rules for Radicals,' and that's the game plan.

He was immersed in a culture that was far removed from mainstream USA. His male role models lacked patriotism and armed service backgrounds. He had nothing invested in America, and then went to college and on to community organizing and congress and grew even further from the mainstream. Now he wonders why he, the Boy Wonder couldn’t bend the backbone of the United States.

I agree..Rush said, and I agree with him, that he hoped 0bama would fail..fail at this goals of turning this nation into a communist nation. However, with the aid of his commie pals,Reid and Palousey, he has done much of what he wants. He is nothing more than a puppet for someone else, probably Soros, but now he is waking up to the notion that he wants to be King of America and not under the thumb of Soros is my guess. But he is seeing this slipping from his claws because he has awakend an angry tiger called the American People,,,,even some sheepeople.

That is as close to the actual facts and truth of what and who Obama is-—in some ways he cannot be blamed for not knowing America as he came from a mother and father who knew nothing about America either---he then went to a foriegn land and was educated by Muslims who hated the USA--thanks, One Name, for nailing it so concisely
