Why Should You Own A Gun? [Lib whiner]

The Machine Gun Shoot Competition happened at the Knob Creek Gun Range in Kentucky this weekend in which hundreds of machine gun dealers, owners and enthusiasts showed up to fire four rounds at random appliances and vehicles.

The Knob Creek Gun Range websites describes this event with similar giddiness and rhetoric of a 13-year-old at a “Return of the King” premiere, stating:

“..The charges are set off by the impact of the bullets. Creating large and small mushroom clouds and fire balls from hell!”

It’s true. Astute men, women and judging from the FAQ sheet on their website inquiring what kind of gun to buy a child, even children, gather to shoot at and explode various objects to: Prove a point of freedom? To ascertain the redneck’s dominance over inconspicuous home appliances? To scare away Tom Robinson?

Whatever the reason, it didn’t seem that the Machine Gun Competition was enough to settle the burdening desire, rather, God given right, no, necessity, to shoot at and blow stuff up. So naturally there was also an Assault Rifle Competition, Old Military Bolt Rifle Competition, K.C.R Shotgun Competition, K.C.R Practical Pistol Competition and the regular old Military Gun Show.

To further christen the event, Rand Paul showed up and called out Obama for trying to take away gun owners’ divine rights:

“The president says that you’re out here in the middle of the country clinging to your guns and ammunition. What I tell the President is, ‘We’re clinging to our guns, our religions and our ammunition.’”

Of course you are, what with these damn liberals running around demanding civil rights, equal opportunity and same sex marriage we need some level-headed people with the machine capability to mow down anyone that stands in their way of having rights.

Yep. I could have used a pointy stick to remove the offending reptile, but a .38 revolver was much handier. Long pointy sticks don't fit in body conforming holsters.

Same with measures. For baking, I want the resolution of metric. For temperature, F beats C for resolution by almost 50%. So I use whatever tool is most handy.

For some things, firearms are much more handy than other tools. Leftists don't get it.

Why should I own a firearm? Well, for several reasons, one of which is that the US Constitution says I can...and another of which is because clowns like you don't want me to.

If that upsets our Lib audience, so be it.

I admit it. I've bought particular guns partly because said gun would make hippies cry.

Glad you're clear on the concept, sweety - it saves unnecessary talking.

Hey, LibWeenie, why should you be allowed to own a computer, which will only lead to you polluting the net with ignorant Marxist-approved “thought”? Or a pencil and paper for that matter? Oh, you believe in the FIRST amendment? I see.

You should own a gun because you really do want a fighting chance to defend yourself and your family.

Tragically, there is story after story here on FR about people who have lost 10s of thousands of weapons and boxes of who knows how much ammunition, most of it at sea. I’ve never seen anything like it. Absolutely tragic. Pardon me. Even I must go grab a Kleenex.

Looking for freeper without a gun is like looking for a virgin at a whorehouse.

If we truly had the “right to bear arms” I could own my own howitzer.

You can. It takes a lot of paperwork, but you can. Finding one that can be legally purchased is a challenge, of course. Now, if you want to get something like a G.E. minigun, there are more to pick from on the market.

“what with these damn liberals running around demanding civil rights, equal opportunity and same sex marriage we need some level-headed people...”

As a true proponent of the 2nd Amendment, I am all for liberals and minorities and gays owning firearms. As Americans, it’s as much their right as anyone else’s. The basic human right to defend one self knows no ideology, color, or crede.

Indeed, all free Americans should arm themselves and protect what is theirs and their lives against those who might transgress upon them. Please do. The more the better.

The more people out there ready and willing to shoot back, the better......

I should have one because I want one. The same as owning various pieces of archery, knives, hammers, saws, etc.
