Just the Facts: Despite promises that the Chevy Volt will operate as an electric car at all times, it will in fact at times be directly driven in part by its internal combustion engine. The mechanical link between Ecotec internal combustion engine and drive wheels will be at high speed.
DETROIT It's the big headline currently on GM's media news site:
"2011 Chevrolet Volt Reinvents Automotive Transportation IN A Complete No Compromises Electric Package"
Um, well, no. Even conceding that all engineering projects involve compromise and chalking that phrase up to marketing hyperbole, the Chevy Volt isn't as electric as GM pretends it is. And it isn't as electric as GM has been saying for the past three years. You know, GM statements like this one:
(Excerpt) Read more at insideline.com ...
What did GM know, and when did they know it?!
I never thought that.
So, it’ll be better than they said? :)
Government Motors lied ?
When will they have their fantastic, dramatic and unbelievable IPO where only insiders can buy?
Screw this, I want a flying plug in car.
With my luck, the dang extension cord will come unplugged just as I hit cruising altitude. :-(
I see the Volt becoming the rusting hood ornament of Obama’s failed green agenda

Hell, it’s a Chevy... I just figured it would get great gas mileage because you and your friends would be pushing it a lot, just like every other Chevy...
Looks like it’s GMC’s Edsel
This is opposed to the Nissan Leaf, which is fully electric. And is made in Tennessee by non-union workers.
If I was in the market for an electric car...
It will, however, be an overpriced piece of crap at all times.
You haven't seen the Baraqqi plan for gas prices.....
It’s a leeeeemon, will push GM backm but wait this is government auto inc.

Essentially, it's a conventional internal combustion engine driving the electric motors that turn the drive wheels on the Chevrolet Volt when the Li-On batteries are low on charge.
Matters not! GM is going to go down the hole of collapsed companies with or without the help of government. These folks were doomed when they took the bailout.
Well, their CEO is Barack Obama.
The first government-mandated car. This piece of crap was forced on GM when it became Government Motors. I doubt most of the folks at GM ever saw the design until it was delivered from the West Wing.
I’m guessing no decent engineer left at GM wants to be caught dead anywhere near the VolBAMA project.
GM lied and the climate died.................
