Carl Paladino says its not okay to be gay.
"There is nothing to be proud of in being a dysfunctional homosexual," the Republican gubernatorial candidate told a small Hasidic group at Khal Adas Kasho synagogue in Williamsburg today.
"That's not how god created us, and that's not the example that we should be showing our children."
Paladino, who has made his opposition to the gay marriage and "the homosexual agenda" clear, went much further yesterday, to say children "would be much better off and much more successful getting married and raising a family" than being gay."
"And I don't want them to be brainwashed into thinking that homosexuality is an equally valid and successful option," he said. "It isn't."
The speech came just days after the suicide of a gay Rutgers student and an anti-gay gang attack in the Bronx.
His Democratic opponent, Andrew Cuomo, blasted the remarks as "stunning homophobia and a glaring disregard for basic equality."
A campaign spokesman said "These comments along with other views he has espoused make it clear that he is way out of the mainstream a

That's why I suspect the Acts 15 council was not attempting to give a comprehensive list of commands, but rather a set of injunctions targeted at removing Gentiles from idolatrous practices.
Btw, what exactly do you mean by, "all non-supervised killings for food purposes"? Who is supposed to be supervising the meat industry? (Obviously, you're not thinking rabbinic supervision.)
Shalom.
Good luck with any reasonable, rational posts. That is not allowed here on certain topics...only rage is allowed on certain topics.
I hear a lot of “hate the sin, love the sinner’ followed by disgusting vitriol...all in the name of “honesty”.
again, you make excellant points.
Thanks for articulating them...You have expressed in a very good way what a Christian is to do, to show love, and to help others.
I thought you said you are Jewish. I must have misread something. Sorry.
Also, it’s not a fair assessment to say I’m trying to avoid anything. I’ve simply been asking and answering. If there’s a particular question you want me to answer just ask it again.
I have said that the Jewish laws don’t apply to Gentiles. I don’t see how that’s the same as saying that they are superceded for Gentiles. They can hardly be superceded, since they never applied to Gentiles that I can tell.
The Mosaic Law, as I understand it, applied to the Jews. We Christians, as Paul would put it, are grafted in. The Apostles spelled out those aspects of the law that Gentiles should have ADDED.
It didn’t spell out aspects of the law that were SUBTRACTED.
I work with one that I can’t stand waving his hands when he talks and his attiude....he’s lazy and childish and he parades around the office wearing pink and peace signs and he looks like ET and he can croke for all I care......
We were discussing Acts 15, so there wouldn’t be in the list anything beyond the Acts 15 stipulations.
The gospels and letters of the Apostles pretty well spell out the positive commands that cover everything in the law.
As mentioned to Zionist C, the Gentiles, never required to keep the Jewish law, had things added by the council of Jerusalem. They didn’t have things subtracted.
The Law applied to the Jews.
Wrong. Bush was a social con and a promiscuous spender - that is what sank us in 2006, 2008.
I don’t know where Bush compromised on social issues that earned him a 34% approval rating when he left office.
If you want to fight abortion and gay marriage (as I do) and actually win, do it on the Constitutional playing field. We cannot lose there, as our position is unassailable. Put it back in the hands of the states and fight it locally. Or, you can preach morality to people, lose more elections and have judicial activists telling you what they read in the Constitution. Your choice.
Can you read the posts BEFORE you post this crap. Your off the topic and totally without evidence comments won’t fly here!
I did not push any gay agenda.
Just because you can not engage in a political discussion...don’t just post whatever pops into your emotional brain.
Yup...the guy was only 6 points down going in..and he does this stupid move, on camera, to a hasidic Jews Group that he does not need to convince of his position and also alienate any independents who interpreted these comments as mean spirited...does palidino have a death wish when it comes to getting elected?
what a waste of time your post is...
Guess you don’t know much about research...the resource goes to exactly the quote in question.
Hey, when trying to prove a point use the correct way to cite your research. All your post points out is your ignorance...Too bad, cause you may have some good points to make...but your ‘write up” does not show any “facts”.
End result: you negate any education and information you would have wanted to present to others..
“nonresponsive”? Look a word up in a dictionary before using it. In addition, you misspelled it. It’s “non-responsive.”
I ask again: Do you have anything useful to say?
Bush was a RINO, who gave rise to the current administration.
Helen Myers
fetal stem cell research
shamnisty, etc.
He’s honest and believes in self disclosure.
Good points all.
I just don’t think the governor of NY can be expected to roll back much of the moral decay even if he generally agrees with you.
Moreover, I think running for governor of NY with such a stated intention is a recipe for electoral disaster. This is a blind alley of an issue. The more a candidate pushes it, the less likely he’ll ever be able to impact it. The broader society and culture must make these matters their province. We can only get so much from politics. I like candidates who acknowledge this reality. I distruct candidates who over reach into areas they can’t do much about.
Get elected. Cut the taxes, cut the budget, cut the spending, reduce the regulation. Get re-elected.
You summed it all up !!
We have some purists here who are so out of touch with reality, it has almost become a delusional denial of being able to seperate their values and keep to them, while bringing in more and more people to understand their values and being able to make a choice out of free will.
Uh, isn’t that what God gave us...free will...but the pharasees here don’t want us to have that.
I’d be curious to know what concessions Bush made on embryonic stem cells - it would be the first I’ve heard of it.
So, the amnesty people turned on Bush for agreeing with them and gave us Obama instead?
Face it: Obama got elected because Republicans lost the independent vote for spending like democrats. Independents didn’t break for Obama because of your crazy assertion that Bush was a RINO on social issues.
Fiscal discipline, national security and fidelity to the Constitution is the republican party’s meal ticket. The democrat party can be consigned to permanent minority status if we ride those horses every election. We still hold true to our conservative values and appoint originalists to the bench, and social issues can be fought on the state level, where they belong. The social libs/independents will come along for the ride because the alternative is a 10% unemployment, deficit spending and debt, government takeovers and weaker national security.
Now, do you still want to preach about homosexual marriage, or do you want to start defeating democrats?
Sorry if my post offended you. Don’t be so sensitive.
Man up, if you can!?
I did not say the obscene statement you say that I said.
