Wiemar Germany had the same issue dealing with its traitors after the Beerhall Putsch as we did after the Civil War.
But that said, at least Lee and Davis and the rest actually DID something about it. They lost, but at least they took a shot at it. I can respect that even if they were fighting for a cause that would maintain keeping their fellow man in bondage.
