The only thing you’ve driven here pokie is your short bus off of the cliff to insanity.

If they didn't like Yankees, why didn't they leave well enough alone?

Things weren't well then and the certainly aren't well, now. The ill wind blows from the North - again. The stench is overwhelming.

That’s an uncharacteristically gratuitous cheap-shot rustbucket. I had to look twice to see if it wasn’t coming from that sock-puppet with a moniker similar to yours.

LOL - only in your dreams pokie.

The game being played here is so clearly far beyond your comprehension I’m not surprised you think you’re winning.

I unexpectedly ran into the town of Yankee on a trip on a back road a few days back. It's a ghost town now. If you were offended by that picture, you need counseling.

I also found a cemetery where the Freepnames of Yankee partisans get buried when they get banned.

Either that, or they had a band that I never heard play.

Unlike your wannabe Confederate buddies, FR doesn’t ban people for simple disagreements.

No, it doesn't. On his home page, stainlessbanner has a list of some of the Yankee partisans who have been banned.

HKTechBoy - banned
capitan_refugio - banned
LLAN_DDUESANT - banned
Heisenberg - banned
Perfidious Sid - banned
The Cruiser - banned
Pahuanui - banned
cvn76 - banned
whackoff - banned
Who is George Salt? - banned
Titus Fikus - banned
Illbay - banned
WhiskeyPapa - banned
#3fan - banned H
eld_to_Ransom - banned
Silas Hardacre - banned
Mortin Sult - banned

See a trend? Of course, a number of them were banned before you signed on. Say, you joined about the time Whiskeypapa got banned. If you are Whiskeypapa under a new name, many thanks. I joined FR to refute obvious untruths in Whiskeypapa's posts.

Nah - I actually joined while I was in Iraq (if you look up mikeiniraq you’ll be re-directed to my page)...and while I was there the Canteen actually sent a care package to where I was for the troops I had the pleasure of working with....

That said, there’s a difference between keeping the history alive and honoring the brave men that fought for both sides and being and internet insurrectionist. I hope you can see the difference.

I absolutely support keeping history alive. That is why I post on these threads. I have access to many old newspapers, and I've cited many forgotten news items from them.

Insurrectionist? No more than you're a statist. I post from a Southern perspective. Was the South all good, and the North all bad, or vice versa? No. Both sides had warts. Well after the war, the former Union general and later president Rutherford B. Hayes said:

"The truth is, the men of the South believed in their theory of the Constitution. There was plausibility, perhaps more than plausibility, in the States' rights doctrine under the terms and in the history of the Constitution."

I believe that Hayes was right. Too often the Southern side of history does not get fair and balanced treatment.

I certainly honor brave folks who fought on both sides of past wars and recent and current wars. Thank you for your service. Seriously.

I do not honor the Union soldiers who burned and pillaged and worse their way through the South or the Southern soldiers who might have done the same to Union supporters. Nor would you, I like to think.

No, I don’t see a trend, other than names of people banned. Are you going to tell me that the circumstances for each banning was identical? That there was no subjectivity involved? That there aren’t an equal number of Lost Cause Losers that have gotten the ban hammer?

I know, or think I know, the circumstances for several of them. capitan_refugio, with whom I had many cordial and informative exchanges, got bumped when he said to someone else that our kind host said something that he apparently didn't say. Whiskeypapa (aka "Wlat" from the way he mistyped "Walt" at the end of his posts) was very pro-Democrat and anti-Bush as I remember and apparently his statements to that effect got under someone's skin. #3fan was perhaps the person who posted arguments from Stormfront in his posts without identifying where they came from, making FR look bad. One of the Southern posters pointed this out.

I exchanged posts with one or two others on stainlessbanner's list. They were generally sort of obnoxious and sure to eventually rub some mod the wrong way.

That there aren’t an equal number of Lost Cause Losers that have gotten the ban hammer?

I'm sure that there were some on the Southern side. nolu chan was banned for quoting Lincoln and perhaps going over the line sometimes in decorum. That is what I remember anyway. Lincoln did say some offensive stuff that is not PC by today's standards. HistorianDorisKearnsGoodwad's posts were expunged from FR. IIRC, perhaps for plagiarism. One or two other Southern posters would get temporary suspensions for name calling. So would some Northern posters. If you know of any other banned Southern posters (or even "band" ones, to use the pun in my post 251), let me know.

Well said, rustbucket.

I too have been busy of late. This one Boone and Crockett buck is going to be the death of me. We spotted him late last deer season and it has become personal. Life is good :)

Thank God, I'm A Country Boy!

Actually the south does get a get fair and balanced treatment - it’s not our problem that it is also often unflattering.

Y’all should get over it
