I don’t even know what to do about this. Hubby replaced some bulbs with these and they are awful. I am a reader and I don’t like the light they give off either. It is different and I can tell.

I have been buying light bulbs almost every week. I have a small stash. I keep wondering if I’m being silly because I don’t know the life expectancy of light bulbs so maybe I’m just wasting my money.

I really hate this crap.

What you do not use personally , you may be able to sell at a future time for a large profit ?

Like gold, silver...food and lead ?

I have been buying extra light bulbs too, and sugar, and salt. I think it is very sensible. With some areas of the country banning certain food items it is a precaution.

Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst is a good motto. As long as your extra stock will last long enough for you to use it, then it just makes sense to get it now before it becomes too expensive(inevitable inflation) or a shortage results.

Lass, there is a soft white version available that has light much more like an incandescent bulb. Hope this helps.

If you have a Big Lots nearby, they sell a wonderful daylight lamp for less than $40. They are fluorescent, but give off a bright white light that is great for reading and cross stitching and other close work. We use them for puzzles, too. I have about 5, including a couple desk lights. :)

They aren’t beautiful, but they are functional. You can get more expensive ones that are prettier, of course.

Me too PP. I have a small stash as well - and I’ll be adding to it tomorrow. I can’t stand those stupid CFL bulbs either. We took them out and replaced them with the incandescent bulbs.

I’m getting sick of this government crap; Micro-managing our lives.

You can get incandescent light bulbs rated for 25,000 hours that are used by the hospitality industry. If you use them for an average of 7 hours a day they’ll burn out in just a little under 10 years and cost about a buck or less per bulb depending on how many you buy.

Once you stock up all you’ll have to do is watch out for the light bulb police who’ll be monitoring everyone who might be using those unauthorized, evil incandescents!
