NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. Colleges should adopt a code of conduct that prohibits bullying and harassment in the wake of the suicide of a Rutgers University student whose gay sexual encounter in his dorm room was streamed online, U.S. Sen. Frank Lautenberg said at a town meeting on campus.
Lautenberg, D-N.J., told the crowd gathered Wednesday night in memory of 18-year-old freshman Tyler Clementi that he would introduce such legislation. Clementi jumped off the George Washington Bridge into the Hudson River on Sept. 22 after the intimate images of him with another man were broadcast. His body was identified days later.
Clementi's roommate, Dharun Ravi, and another Rutgers freshman, Molly Wei, both 18, have been charged with invasion of privacy, and authorities are weighing whether bias crime charges should be added

This is Barbara Streisand...all that self esteem crap they were pushing in public skools by the highly talented NEA union members is coming back to bite em in the ass.
Try, teaching, sticks and stones can hurt my bones, but words will never hurt me. K.I.S.S. KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID.
Personally, I don’t let anyone other than some of my family members have control over my emotions. Period!
If this had been a heterosexual suicide, it would have been no big deal. It’s the homosexuals that “the Laut” says need special protection. What a jackass.
Go STFU, you old geezer!
Does this post make me a bully?/s;)
So, 18-year old Molly Wei was a bully because a 20 year-old male college student took HIS OWN life??
If this had been a heterosexual christian, “bullied” by Muslims, do you think Lautenberg would be riding to the rescue with this idiotic law?
How about a law against jerkoff politicians who think they can legislate all the problems of the world away?
Sooo, the gay activists have finally found a congresscritter who will actually carry their water?
I’m not demeaning what happened. Those two little scamps should be properly charged with invasion of privacy.
But the rest of this is the usual cynical attempts by the usual gay activists trying to make as much political hay as they can out of another cute, non-threatening, Peter Pan martyr.
Dunno how much campaign cash ol’ Laut has been promised. He can’t be dumb enough to think the gays represent an actual voting bloc.
Just post the ten commandments, return prayer to schools, and practice the golden rule. We don’t need no stinkin new laws. We just need to return to our roots.
If you really want to nip bullying in the bud, first thing to do is to get rid of zero tolerance violence policies and let the kids defend themselves.
The Laut needs to throw in a clause about leftwing, extremist politicians (DemocRATS) bullying American taxpayers (the “rich”). Then, maybe I’d listen to what he has to say.
Why don’t we hear anything about the playmate? Did he jump off the bridge too?
They have huge role models, Liberace, Elton John, Ellen Dejeneres sp and the Choy tatted comedian on Dancing With The Stars to name a few.
This is a homosexual ploy to gain victim hood and sympathy.
Ummmmm, Senator -- this happened at Rutgers the State University of New Jersey. So why didn't you NJ politicians require a code of conduct there?
SENATE COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR SENATE, Nos. 149 and 729 STATE OF NEW JERSEY 210th LEGISLATURE ADOPTED MAY 30, 2002

We don't need this.
Suicide is a CHOICE by the person COMMITING THE SUICIDE!
You can't BLAME others for the CHOICE made by someone else. Suicide is a CHOICE!
Leave it to Louseinbeg to come up with this.
Even the parents of the “gay” kid didn't know he was “gay”. The kid who committed suicide was ASHAMED of being caught on tape. It's really that simple.
What the “gay” kid could have done was stand up to taunts that occurred before his choice of suicide and said, “yeah, I'm gay, so what.” Bet ya he didn't. He was ASHAMED of being “gay”.
If you IGNORE a “bully” they look for someone else to get a reaction out of. If they don't and you stand up to a “bully” they step down. This is growing up 101. Are kids too DUMB to figure that out?
Where are the parents of these sissies? Why aren't they suggesting ways to handle the “bullying”? Or did they just shove some antidepressants at the kid because they didn't have the time for their kid either?
Personally, I dont let anyone other than some of my family members have control over my emotions. Period!
“
I'm right behind you.
I don't give any mere mortal the power to rule MY emotions!
What a bunch of sissies we have. The touchy feely world liberals have created is getting me nauseous.
Well, there have been a number of bullied victims that have killed themselves over the last several years and many of them are straight. And anti-bully legislation was being passed well before this particular incident. So I dont think this is specifically the “gay agenda.” I think they are simply hopping on the bandwagon.
Keep in mind with this whole debate...what would happen if someone was a bully at an adult workplace? That person would be terminated very quickly and potentially even sued for harrassment or assult or verious other things. Most workplaces have zero tolerance policies regarding harrassment. There are very serious consequences for when an adult acts like a bully.
So if a bully in a school is creating a disruptive and unsafe learning environment, shouldn’t that bully be removed from the school?
Now, concerning the computer ~ the university recommends that the students provide their own security systems for them. The equipment used for that purpose pretty much constitutes a common security system.
I doubt any charges will stick against either party.
The gay crowd will probably throw a hissy fit and threaten to jump in the river with their brother ~
Amen! Notice how our schools have declined since we have replaced the 10 Commandments with self-esteem training and sex education.
What is that? A hate crime?
