Mass. governor race turns into courtroom thriller

BOSTON (AP) --

A hard-fought Massachusetts gubernatorial race has morphed into a courtroom thriller, complete with charges of espionage, conspiracy and subterfuge.

Republicans have believed for more than a year they had a chance to unseat Gov. Deval Patrick, a marked man as a fellow Democrat, friend and political ally of President Barack Obama. But their work to narrow the campaign to a two-man race against GOP nominee Charles Baker has been thwarted by the persistent candidacy of independent Timothy Cahill.

Now, in an eleventh-hour, scorched-earth lawsuit, Cahill is charging that Baker and the Republicans have gone too far. Cahill alleges four former advisers breached their contracts with him and engineered the defection of his running mate, who endorsed Baker a week ago and said Cahill could no longer win the race.

may also have the perverse effect of achieving the opposite of what the Republicans had hoped.

. . . His continued candidacy stands to wound Baker, who has been vying for the same fiscally conservative voters, and allow Patrick to win a second term

Thoughtful analysis or wishful thinking?

Cahill left the Dem party and he hates them and their politics so much that—oh wait. He took a Dem ballot in the primary and said he wanted to help some friends. Oh and there was the Lt Gov candidate he was running with—who left the race saying Cahill would just be a spoiler. Cahill says that if he IS elected, he would ask for the man’s resignation
(Loscocco).

Boy who would ever pick a dimwit traitor like Loscocco, eh Tim?

Oh wait.

Tim did. Great judge of character!

Tim also is very complimentary of Patrick in debates and Patrick called him last week and told him to keep his chin up and don’t worry about all these attacks.

You know your end of the deal, Tim; you divert enough votes away from Baker so that Patrick wins. And you will be
rewarded with a plum job, even though you said you would
not do so.

“Independent” Tim Cahill...

I don’t know, but sounds like wishful thinking on the surface...

If they make a case and it sticks, it may be different. The devil will certainly be in the details.

And funny, the MA Lottery, which is under Cahill’s control, is suddenly running ads saying how well they are run...purely not a political move?

A thriller for who? Not me! The MSM is still dreaming, as always.

Typical Dem. dirty trick in Oct. Tim knows he can’t win, so makes sure he draws votes away from Baker with this sleazy attack. Obama desperately needs Deval Patrick to win since Scott Brown’s stunning win some months back, it’s clear MA is a bell weather state and more. If Patrick loses, and Obama’s coming here to campaign for him, it will look really really bad for Obama. If this trick works and Patrick wins, look for Obama to reward Tim Cahill with a high paying job in DC.

Give it a break. Cahill is the only Gov. candidate
against RomneyCARE. WRKO, Carr, you and the other
RomneyBOTs should head back to DU.

Have you no shame?
Romney's BOTs attacked Gov. Palin throwing the Election to Obama.
How Romney is that?
Now you do it again?

Sorry for supporting the only Republican in the race. You may call him a Republican in name only but he’s no

Cahill—Dimwit Dem hack
Patrick—Moonbat
Stein—Green moonbat

At least on the ballot he is described as a Republican
and while you may disagree, he is the nominee for the
Rep. party. Given Cahill’s recent behavior I can’t
see anyone supporting him, ROMNEYcare or not. He’s crazy.
He’s going after his self-chosen running mate now that
the running mate says “look Tim, you can’t win and you’re
helping Deval win”. Tim’s working with the Patrick campaign.

You support the hack Cahill who is conspiring to swing the
election to Patrick? He cannot win. It’s either Baker or
Patrick. If you are for Cahill you are helping Patrick
win re-election. Together you can.

Lawfare. It’s how Libs win when they can’t get the votes. And Repubs keep bringing Nerf bats to the gunfight.

Don’t let your hatred of Romney get in the way of a Republican taking back the Corner Office at the State House. We don’t need to divide the ballots any further than CAHILL has already tried to do.

Now let’s see where Axelrod’s pal figures into this....the White House has some ‘splainin to do.........
