Violent Mexican cartels and gangs are not in the business of negotiating terms unless there’s an inordinate amount of money on the table. They’re calling Texas’ bluff by essentially thumbing their nose. They won’t hand over the body, and despite the ultimatum yesterday, Texas won’t do anything to try to get it back.

So much that the US “should” be doing right not, but it’s unlikely to happen. We “should” be shutting down the bridges between the countries, rounding up all the major employers of illegals (not necessarily deport them, just cut off their incomes), and shutting off all tourism to Mexico. This would essentially close down their money supply coming from this country.

If this isn't a cause for war, what is?

The US should be taking over the whole lake and putting a secure border fence somewhere south of it.
