If you venture into a war zone on a lark, how much taxpayer money should be spent so that your body is at the funeral?
You go hiking in Iran, or jetsking in insurgent controlled areas of Mexico, or adventuring in eastern Congo, or take a mission trip to Dafur you should expect bad things to happen. And you shouldn’t expect the army to come riding over the hill.
The couple was not from Texas. If you don’t live in a border state, and all you watch is network news and teevee game shows, you come away with the opinion that Mexico is our friend and ally, that you’re perfectly safe vacationing on the border. I hope this case disavows many of that notion.
No, I don’t think they should be help responsible THIS time, but after this, everyone should know: it’s unsafe to vacation near Mexico, let alone IN Mexico.

The Mexico border, and this entire country is a WAR zone because of Mexico, and until our government admits it and actually tells the citizens of this country the truth of how bad it is, it’s only going to get worse.
The hikers in Iran are ALIVE, but the State Dept is defending them and have issued warnings for European travel...but Mexico...to hear it from them, and TOO many freepers, Mexico is just a dandy place!
We loose more Americans because of Mexico every year than Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan put together.
What we need to do here is grab the Iranian UN delegation and take them out and execute them (an ancient custom, but one they'd understand). Then, if the hikers don't show up in an hour or so we grab the Mexican embassy officers and dispose of them like trash.
