I believe that in Woodward’s book he said something to the effect that Sec. Def. Gates would view Donilon’s advancement to NSA as a “disaster”. Sounds like Dem. politics is going to manage the Afghan. war. Look for Gates to bail sooner than expected and who knows what Petraues will do.

I don't look for Gates to bail out.

Gates was a colorless, second-banana bureaucratic hack of the first magnitude when Obama asked him to stay on.

Anyone who accepts and appointment and works for Obama with his well-known no-victory, anti-military, anti-troops DNA is a sell-out and toadie of the first magnitude.

I'll grant Gates a minimum of slack for his first year when he undoubtedly thought he could make a difference in something or other.....but to stay on and on after every single revelation about the Usurper indicates his bent for the destruction of America and it's national defense, THAT is indefensible.

Hic, haec, hac.....I was appointed, I stayed, I'm still a HACK and I'll keep collecting my substantial salary.
