Terrified passengers on a London-bound flight froze in their seats as a crazed man ran through the aisle of the Qantas jet screaming: 'You will all die!'
Praying and yelling in a foreign language, the man threatened to kill himself and the passengers on the fully-laden jet several hours after it took off from Melbourne to fly to London via Hong Kong.
Flight attendants managed to jump on the man and restrain him as he threatened to open an emergency exit door, shouting: 'It is God's will'.
Passengers told of the flight of terror when they made calls to friends in Melbourne after the aircraft landed safely in Hong Kong and the deranged man was taken into custody.
'There were some very scared and upset passengers,' one woman, identifying herself only as Helen, told Melbourne's Herald Sun newspaper.
'He was praying in what was believed to be Hebrew and yelling out that he was going to kill himself and all the passengers would die,' said Helen, who had been sitting in Premium Economy.
'There was one lady that was quite upset. She moved into our cabin in Premium Economy because she said "I heard too much, I heard too much - I can't go back down there [into the main part of the cabin]".' Qantas
The aircraft had taken off from Melbourne shortly before midnight Australian time.
'The man had to be held down by crew members, who restrained him and sat him down in the front row of economy,' said another passenger. T
he raving man was handcuffed and curtains were placed around his seat, with two crew members sitting nearby for the rest of the flight.
A Qantas spokeswoman confirmed today that there had been a passenger 'became disruptive'.

Other stories report the man’s first name as “Ariel” and say that he’s Israeli.

For Pete’s sake. When pressurized, the air pressure on the inward-opening door approaches one ton. I know of no one that can lift more than a ton. Not much of a danger.
