Here's one way to respond to attacks from a former employee that risk casting a pall over your campaign: Poll the popularity of your accuser's attorney.
The campaign of Republican gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman said today it conducted a poll showing 68 percent of California voters have an unfavorable view of Gloria Allred, the lawyer representing the undocumented housekeeper fired by the Whitman family last year.

the other 32 % must have their heads up their ....
Allred is as dumb as a bag of hammers.
Hey!!!... Don’t insult hammers like that! What did they ever do to you?
Responding to a 'scandal' by attacking a peripheral figure? Gee thats never been done before.
Ken Starr.
Glad to see the republicans finally getting it.
Along that line, we like to say: “Number (as numb as) than a pounded thumb!”
Whitman should run campaign commercials featuring
Allred as her opponent’s hired gun in an attempted
character assassination.
Any recent polling numbers on this race?
Watching Frank L’s group last night on this topic was really painful..only a couple of normal people.
I’m afraid Hispanics in Ca.don’t care about Cruella Da Allred as much as they are sympathetic to poor Nicki(and wanting to protect their illegal relatives).
That was painful watching! That Black teacher was pathetic! Glad I don’t have any kids in her class.
At least Gloria ALL-Red has an appropriate name.
Have you ever noticed how much Gloria Allred and Nancy Pelosi resemble one another (especially shortly after botox treatments)?
wow.. ambulance chasing is a co-ed sport in California .. who da thunk?
The other point that should be driven home is this is how the Government tortures someone trying to hire someone as simple as a housekeeper. They make them file tax returns, fill out I-9s, make them defacto agents of the INS but tell them if they have suspicions they need to keep them to themselves or face charges. This is a nightmare over a simple process of hiring a housekeeper and we wonder why small businesses want to avoid hiring people now.

Whitman should run an ad showing that EVERY SINGLE EMPLOYER in the country is at risk to get sabotaged by a person who presents FALSE DOCUMENTS.
If the government would take such FALSE DOCUMENTS seriously: fine/imprison/deport with permanent tattos to prevent hiding again in America all such persons, then Whitman & the employment agency would not have been fooled.
The Soc Sec administration has it’s own set of dirty hands in the mess. They are very slow to tell an employer that there is a non-match on W-2 info. E-Verify isn’t bulletproof, either. Maybe it is time for Soc Sec cards to have photos on them.
One lady, who lives in Truckee, Calif, got a notice a few years ago from the IRS telling her that she didn’t report all of her income & that she owned more taxes, penalties, & interest.
She had worked for years for a only one company & had never worked for McDonald’s- the employer shown on the IRS records she was getting bashed about.
She kept pressing the issue, as she was literally the victim of identy theft.
The end result?
The highly admired owner of a number of McDonald’s in RENO got raided in mid-afternoon. They took 63 illegals out of his various locations. These locations are 24/7/365 stores, & so they only got 1/3 or so of the illegals in those raids by extrapolation.
The fine for doing such employment practices was $1,000,000 off the top & more fines & punishments after that. Reno papers didn’t say much about where all the illegals went.
There hasn’t hardly been a peep about this highly admired owner of all those McDonald’s—Luther Mack—who just also happened to be black.
