London, England (LifeNews.com) -- British television pundit Virginia Ironside is drawing gasps from pro-life advocates from across the globe for advocating killing disabled children. She said any "good mother" would smother a disabled child with a pillow because of the frustration bringing up such a baby would pose.
"If I were the mother of a suffering child -- I mean a deeply suffering child -- I would be the first to want to put a pillow over its face," Ironside said in a video clip of a new BBC television interview she gave.
"If it was a child I really loved, who was in agony, I think any good mother would," she adds.
The host of the program was so shocked by the statement, that, as another guest was about to be introduced, she called the remarks a "horrifying thing."
But Ironside went further -- advocating abortions for children who are diagnosed in the womb with severe disabilities.
"If a babys going to be born severely disabled or totally unwanted, surely an abortion is the act of a loving mother," she said.
Reverend Joanna Jepson, the other guest, was left stunned in amazement at the comments. She was born with a severe birth defect, since corrected in a minor surgery, that left her top and bottom jaws considerably out of alignment. She has advocated for the rights of disabled children who are targeted for abortions even for minor issues such as a cleft palate.
Patrick Archbold responded to the remarks in a post at the National Catholic Register.
"This goes to show that no principle of civilization, no precept -- no matter how holy, authentic, or certain -- cannot be twisted into the service of evil. Murder as an act of love," he said. "If Ironside had her way, people like Jepson and her disabled brother would never have been born or perhaps lovingly smothered to death."
"You might think that all this is some wicked theoretical exercise on the part of Ironside, alas no. Ironside willingly recounts the tales of her two abortions. The second of which she professed to be for the good of her baby," he continues.
"Ironsides horrifying statements are the logical extension of many of the arguments in favor of abortion and euthanasia, but simply taken to their utilitarian ends. And she is not alone," Archbold concluded. "The only good that comes out of this is the glimmer of hope that such things still have the ability to shock."

Well then why not a 24 year old, or 19 year old? Why stop at new-born?

I think that’s the same monster Glenn Beck did a segment on yesterday. What a disgusting and horrible creature she is.

Confirming the ‘slippery slope’ theory. Sort of like the narrow gap between socialism and fascism.

The disabled and advocates for them really need to pay attention. If the pro-death crowd ever establishes euthanasia for the very old and very sick, disabled folks will be next.

A dead soul is the hallmark of the fabian marxist, and this pitiful thing is just that a fabian marxist. Dead in soul, worship killing as enlightened behavior. It’s for the children don’tchaknow.

If you listen to her carefully, she first disenfranchises the target ‘child’ as a mass of cells, nothing more, even though the ‘child’ in question would be well past birth. One is left to wonder, is it the illness which transforms the child into nothing more than a mass of cells in this demon’s eyes?

If the pro-death crowd ever establishes euthanasia for the very old and very sick, disabled folks will be next. The disabled are actually first on their list; look at Terri Schiavo, she was perfectly healthy (she had a life expectancy of at least thirty more years when she was killed).

The eugenicists got their asses kicked in WWII. Guess it is time to do it again. You do realize that people that make statements like this is usually a intentional trial balloon to measure public reaction to push forward a public social/government agenda.

If a babys going to be born severely disabled or totally unwanted, surely an abortion is the act of a loving mother," she said. The sound of the same voice heard in the Garden of Eden and in the Temptation of Christ. It's never about the child, it's all about them...even in this the lie..."a loving mother would do"...steers the ignorant to not do so makes one an unloving mother. With that attitude about life...people as this will surely then understand Gods verdict on them on judgement day. Though He will not spare them the decision they made for themselves.

The logical infinite loop that presently takes up my time is the fact that the very purveyers of this tripe would be the most obvious targets for this type of treatment.
Think of how much better the world would be if Mohammed, Lenin Stalin, Marx, Hitler, and OK here it comes, Obama had been properly aborted due to lack of IQ potential.

Look at Terri Schiavo, they stretched the run-up to her murder out over months and then killed her slowly with around-the-clock news coverage while the entire world watched and took polls the entire time to gauge which talking points the public was most receptive to.

It’s already happening with euthanasia.
It won’t be long, we’re through as a civilization.
