Shultz to Obama: 'You're out of your mind': Former secretary of state blasts Afghan withdrawal date

Reagan-era Secretary of State George Shultz blasted President Obama Monday night for his scheduled July 2011 date to begin withdrawing U.S. forces from Afghanistan.

Mr. Shultz, 89, made the unusually blunt remarks at a packed dinner for the International Republican Institute - the GOP-aligned counterpart to the National Democratic Institute - where he was receiving the organization's 2010 Freedom Award.

"You're out of your mind," he said at a question-and-answer forum, when asked his opinion of the president's drawdown date. "How can you say that 'if I haven't won by six or nine months from now, I'm leaving'?"

I used to listen to crazy Eddie when he was on Errhead Amerika. All I can say - He is crazy. I wonder how much of it is for show - I hear stories about how genuine he is or isn't. Thank goodness there is no more errhead Amerika - it served it's purpose and allowed the RATs to take back Congress. Regardless, he should be undone slowly and surely starting from the morning of November 3rd.

What I mean by that is, he is going to get an ass whoopin politically speaking, he will in fact lose the US House and may lose the US Senate if God is good to us and our people turn out in dynamic ANGER and PATRIOTISM. In which case, the Lib-Dem internecine back-biting and splittism should begin in earnest! A massive "Draft Hillary for President 2012" movement within the Democrat party, pointing all fingers at Obama for the 2010 disaster/fiasco, should begin at once, particularly on blogs, chat rooms, liberal sites, everywhere. Sign up, sound off, stir the pot vigorously and often, as an "outraged, Democrat, former-Obama supporter" who wants him to step aside to save the Party from further erosion and destruction in 2012. We should help facilitate the fomenting of this internal Democrat Party split. They are ripe sooooo for it over the next two years. It will absolutely tear them apart like a Doberman that hasnt had a meal in three days tossed a raw steak. We should and will gain even more GOP national legislative seats; governorships/state houses in 2012 in addition to the Presidency, with the Enemy Within internally weakened in this way.

There are many younger attendees on this forum: George Shultz was one of the brightest and no BS Secretary of States in recent memory. He reminds me of Donald Rumsfeld, also no BS.

He was also a head executive at Bechtel Corp, an international A/E firm, which in today's Media atmosphere would be attacked like an inviolable sin.

An example of a competent President appointing a competent Cabinet head. Glad to see at 89 he still has it.
