Smoke and possible fire behind a headlamp led Tesla Motors to recall a third of the 1,300 electric sportscars it has sold so far...
So far, Tesla has sold about 1,300 of the expensive Roadsters, which cost $109,000 a piece. This recall affects 439 cars.

My first car was a British Leyland Austin 1800. It was the most comfortable car while waiting for the tow-truck you could ever have.

And
just to complete the circle Tesla spent $42 million to buy a defunct factory from GM and another $15 million for the equipment in the plant, also from GM.

Lucas - Inventor of the first intermittent wiper.LOL!!!!!
And ... the first flaming turn signal. Seriously, whenever I used my left turn signal in my Spit, I'd have to blow out the flames coming out of the steering column. I learned really quickly that I needed to use hand signals in that car.
Sure would like to have another one though.

Good one!
The three-position Lucas switch—DIM, FLICKER and OFF. The other three switch settings—SMOKE, SMOLDER and IGNITE.

Yeah, “Fix It Again Tony!” Hey Fiat, where is my V-6 Cummings Diesel in a 1500 Ram Truck? I don’t want a 14 city/20 hwy (Gas). I want 27 city/35 hwy (Fuel). Do it Tony, do it NOW!

I remember going to a trade show and seeing a number of MGTD’s from the early 50’s in a line. Everyone of them was leaking gas and oil all over the place. lol

I named my Austin 1800 “RainLover” — because it loved the rain (and any little puddle I came across) so much it would stall.

When Ford bought Jaguar, the first change was to put FMC wiring into Jags. It was a blessing that keeps them running. No more sitting on the side of the road waiting for a tow! Ford sold Jag to an Indian Company, Tata...
Electric cars are worth less... (not worthless, but close!)! But, GE is making wiring pedestals for the taxpayers to buy!

They were pretty cars. I must say I saw a lot more “sitting”
than “running” down the road! :-)
