Airport Lobbies Possible Terror Targets in European Plot, Official Says

Mounting 'Chatter' by Jihadi Extremists Has Law Enforcement Nervous

Among the possible targets in the suspected European terror plot are pre-security areas in at least five major European airports, a law enforcement official told ABC News. Authorities believe terror teams are preparing to mount a commando like attack featuring small units and small firearms modeled after the Mumbai attack two years ago.

The State Department issued a highly unusual "Travel Alert" Sunday for "potential terrorist attacks in Europe," saying U.S. citizens are "reminded of the potential for terrorists to attack public transportation systems and other tourist infrastructure."

One scenario authorities fear is a repeat of the 1985 attack on the Rome and Vienna airports, when Palestinian extremists threw grenades and opened fire on travelers waiting at ticket counters injuring 140 and killing 19, including a small child.

European and U.S. officials first learned of the current terror threat over the summer following the capture of a suspected German terrorist who had been training in Pakistan.

The plot's leaders have been identified and targeted, Pakistan's Ambassador Husain Haqqani told ABC News in an interview late Sunday.

"I think that several people who were involved in the plotting have been targeted, and the others are certainly on the radar of U.S., Pakistani and European intelligence services," Haqqani said.

A curfew was ordered this weekend at Ramstein U.S. Air Force Base in Germany, with soldiers told to remain at home and not to wear uniforms off base "in response to a threat condition," a Ramstein spokesperson said....

I don’t get the logic in your post: How many people pack heat before going to church? I don’t think very many, if any at all.

anyway, to deter Pickpockets.

Yes, front pants pockets are usually the best. Money belts are nice too if you are carrying a lot of cash. Actually, if you are fortunate enough to have some extra cash, I would bring it(of course very securely). If something happens such as an act of terror, war in the Middle East, etc.. you are going to want some cash for cabs and anything else you can imagine. Creditcards might be an issue if the SHTF. I travel to Italy about five times yearly. If you get in to trouble, just put up a HELP thread on FR. You will get taken care of guaranteed.

Put yourself in the place of the terrorists – would you rather attack a place where No one can be armed. Or a place where some May be armed?

Unless it's open carry, you're not going to know if someone can fight back unless they are forbidden by law.

If a church (or any other place for that matter) doesn't prohibit people from being able to defend themselves i.e. a “Gun-Free” zone, then the bad guys won't know if they will come up against someone who can fight back.

Declaring an area a “Gun-free” zone virtually guarantees only the reprobates will be armed.

The answer will be to move the security line to the airport entrance. /sarc

I think more people carry in church than you might realize.

I saw Stepinlotsofit online, and they were showing actual footage of the specific terrorists training in Pockeestahn recently, and the news was that these terrorists had already left and were present in Europe, and that they had been communicating back and forth with their bosses in Pockeestahn, and had been given the OK to attack.

Scary.

Strangely enough, though, they had blanked out the faces of these specific terrorists. Maybe seeing their faces would have helped prevent deaths? or are we trying to protect the terrorists’ civil rights, because they have not hurt anyone yet?

I think they are German nationals.

The reality is as long as the terrorists are willing to die they could attack somewhat successfully just about anywhere. It mainly would be a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time for you. Remember Breslin (sp?) in Russia where they killed a couple hundred of kids and adults? Ten people with AK’s and a desire can wreak havoc anywhere. Stay in shape so you can run or attack, be vigilant and always wear shoes in which you can run. Aren’t these mooslims a fun bunch?

When I first read it, I thought it said “Tenor Targets”, and I thought, what the devil do they have against Tenors?

Don’t go to Europe - spend your money at home !

That’s what ‘authorities’ really are saying.

Reigning by fear - allways been perfect to misslead the masses.
