Brown, Whitman debate: Housekeeper issue leads to heated exchange (debated Today)

Fresno (Los Angles Times) -- Gubernatorial candidates Meg Whitman and Jerry Brown tangled in a blistering dispute Saturday over Whitman's employment of an illegal immigrant housekeeper as they met for the campaign’s first and only Spanish-language debate.

The most intense exchange of the debate, held at Cal State Fresno, came when the moderator asked Whitman about the revelations earlier this week that she had employed Nicandra Diaz Santillan for nine years before firing her in 2009. Whitman has denied knowing that Diaz Santillan was undocumented until just before the dismissal.

Whitman turned to face Brown and accused Brown of being behind Santillan's emergence.

“Jerry, you should be ashamed,” she said, turning to Brown and shaking her finger. “You and your surrogates put her deportation at risk. You put her out there. You should be ashamed for sacrificing Nicky Diaz on the altar of your political ambitions.”

Brown fired back ...

At least someone on the GOP side attempts to strike back.

"You and your surrogates put her deportation at risk."

That is a refreshing response from the Republican candidate. /sarcasm

Meg Whitman would likely be a far better governor for ailing California than Jerry Brown, the old political hack running on the Democrat ticket. In California, the Latino vote cannot be written off and Whitman is in a tough spot here. She did nothing wrong but she is on the defense over this bogus allegation and now probably wishes she had never employed a Latina. If this kind of classic Democrat distraction ploy actually helps give California Jerry Brown as their governor, that state deserves what it will get, which will be bankruptcy and chaos.

The smear worked just as planned . Meg spent a lot of time and money on the latino vote . That effort , for the most part went up in smoke . The negitive ads are everywhere , they are dumping millions on attck ads . The only ads for Meg that i see are the same ol same ol Ebay jive spots. The knuckle draggers ( union stooges ) are planning picket sessions at her office and at all appearances . Turn out the lights , the tax funded bums win this one .

How Jerry Brown could be running at all is disgusting.

Not on your life...Not in a million years!

Meg is going to win this one because the alternative socialist-progressive union-controlled obamanation regime has really started to scare even my lifelong liberal calif. friends and family. They are so confused and disheartened that they don't even know how and IF they're going to vote, and there are thousands like them.

Anyone have a link for the full debate? BTW, if you didn’t see Greta last night destroy Allred, it is worth taking the time to watch it.

My experience and views in this issue are anecdotal. I don’t live in CA any longer but have family members still living both in southern CA and San Fran suburbs, as well as many school year friends. Just about all are or have been at some point committed Democrats. But this year there’s something different percolating. They are confused and basically don’t know what to do.

I am working hard to show them what they NEED to do, not for the good of their party, but for the good of their country! I am certain the closer it comes to the elections more of these Democrats will come to look at the bigger picture, the national view of things, the damage of obamanation, than their own petty battles.

I’ve been looking and can only find it for the audio feed to the radio programs that are airing it. Where are you located?

In Los Angeles, I’m assuming it will be on the Univision station (KMEX 34). According to the TV Guide, “Parallel Lives” (that usually does newsclips and stuff) holds the 4PM slot.

It should be available soon — it will be broadcast (in Spanish with English voiceover for candidate responses)
all over starting at 4PM.

They will deport her, exactly one day after the election and Allred will stop taking her calls.

NEVER MIND

This whole debate is being broadcast now, 100% in Spanish
Questions in spanish - with voiceovers for the candidates.

The questions were actually asked in Spanish in the actual debate, with translators for the candidates.

Ain’t you glad you live in the US of A?

The DU and KOZ kids located in CALIF consider these elections some of the few they can win and finally can make CALIF the Marxist hell hole of our worst nightmares.

MEG and CARLYE are the TWO HOTEST TROLL POSTS sites on FR.
