California Budget Crisis: No Toilet Paper In State Parks
RightPundits ^ | 10/02/2010 | Shannon Bell

Could someone please pass the toilet paper, perhaps from another state or something? California’s epic budget battle has really taken a toll, maybe even greater than first thought. California State Parks are going to have to go without toilet paper. So that means that you will have to go without toilet paper if you’re visiting one of the more rural state parks in the golden state.

California’s budget battle has been going on for nearly 3 months with neither side willing to give an inch. Forget about all the IOU’s and not being able to pay vendors for services rendered or just the embarrassment of being a state in total chaos, we’re talking about toilet paper for crying out loud. The most basic of human needs…….unless of course you’re Sheryl Crow.

The California toilet paper crisis is a teachable moment for government officials who seem destined every year to battle it out over where the money comes from and where it goes. The silliness that ensues when government geniuses fight over money is almost beyond belief. Simple and necessary things like toilet paper often become casualties of special interests.

For those who wondered why singer Sheryl Crowe’s name was mentioned in relation to the toilet paper crisis...

She is an environmentalist who Proposed Limitation on How Much Toilet Paper We Use to save the planet.

She proposed “a limitation be put on how many squares of toilet paper can be used in any one sitting” and perhaps “just washing that one square out.”

California, as usual is leading the way towards making her dream come true...

If I lived there and owed taxes to the state, I know what I’d put in the envelope instead of a check.

The Ruling Class upped all the park fees; one would think they could afford to supply the lousy toilet paper. What the Park Service provided in state parks sucked.

Well, on the bright side, Sheryl Crow’s proposal would be a jobs initiative. We would have to hire people to count the squares and hand them out. Great way to get the economy going.

And, while in Italy awhile back, I had to use a restroom. They did not have toilet paper in the restroom. There was an older man - and I am not making this up - sitting in the area just outside the room with the stalls who you had to pay and he’d hand you like 10 squares of TP. What a job! I was grossed out and didn’t want to use anything that guy had his hands all over so I just used tissues I had in my purse.

How about the following austerity measures for all state employees:

No free toilet paper, paper towels, coffee cups, plates, napkins, coffee, etc at work.

10% pay cut for all.

Reduce all paid vacation days by 25%.

Reduce all paid personal and sick days by 25%.

Salaried employees only get the same days off that private employers typically give.

Initiate copays of $50 for all medical care that is currently free, thereby reducing state-paid premiums.

Hmmm....

We,all have some left after y2k, right?

This is what you should look for as your substitute when there is no toilet paper available...

I suppose Sheryl The Diseased Crow expects me to modify my diet to handfuls of nuts and berries, then. Sometimes my sessions require a quarter roll of two-ply and a couple of 'mercy flushes' just to complete the task at hand. It's also why I keep a magazine rack beside the throne - not only do I have good reading material to pass the time, I may run low, and there's always the Spring '09 Cabela's catalog buried in there for back up.

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

Whenever you try to cu one penny from their budget the first things to go ae the thins that affect people and children most, in the parks and schools

Don;t pass their latest increased school budget? No busses for after school activities. That’ll teach you

Nevermind that there is level on level of administrators (who have less and less to actually administrate, one they cut off activites) making huge salaries

After this election, I want to see a top down audit of the entire government, with the salaries posted for every government employee making over $100,000

AND more important, and end to the practice of SPEND IT OR LOSE IT!

How about If you SAVE MONEY in your department, you get to distribute 10% as a bonus to all the employees.

I bet they find some nice savings

I’m astonished nobody has yet stated that this is perfectly predictable behavior, as the state government has been s***ing all over residents for many years. Absolutely astonished. Perhaps because it is lame tomfoolery. *Sigh*
