Civil rights, labor groups rally on National Mall
The goal is to arouse enthusiasm among Democratic voters and stave off an expected GOP comeback in the midterm elections. The rally is also a liberal response to conservative commentator Glenn Beck's rally in August.

WASHINGTON - Thousands of activists from groups that support the Democratic Party gathered for a march and rally on the National Mall on Saturday in a bid to rejuvenate the enthusiasm of more liberal voters and stave off an expected GOP comeback in next month's midterm elections.
Organizers said the rally includes hundreds of groups representing Latinos, blacks, labor and environmental activists, and would be aimed at demands for jobs, justice and education.
The rally, called "One Nation Working Together," is in part a response to conservative commentator Glenn Beck's "Restoring Honor" rally in August that drew thousands to hear a call to return to American values of liberty and faith. However, organizers said the "One Nation" rally had been planned since April.
Beck has criticized the liberal response, in part because he said it includes members of socialist groups.

Okay, Jealous just left out “Under GOD” when he quoted:
“One Nation, Indivisible, With Liberty and Justice For All...”
Why am I not surprised.
This is pathetic! I’d turn if off but I’m having too much fun laughing at them.
"We thought about that a lot and decided to declare war on the SEIU"
The camera work is clearly avoiding showing any wide angle shots. Oops they just panned back. There are plenty of people - but as Harry Belafonte suggested tens of thousands not hundreds of thousands.
CBS cannot put the count for this rally any higher then they did for the Beck rally if the side by side photos are similar. They claimed 87,000 was all that showed up for Beck.
Can’t wait to watch them squirm out of this one..
Subtract the number of ‘’paid’’ ‘’activists ‘’ and union stooges and the numbers will be even less.
The CSPAN pictures are showing a rapidly disappearing crowd. The numbers are going to be pretty small.
People who are harangued and coerced into attendance have much less incentive and indeed a subtle urge to litter the reputation of the event holders. Of course, if I were the organizers of this affair, I would be stringent about having a good clean-up squad ASAP. The good thing here is that either way the trash gets collected and the EXAMPLE is ours!
Yeah. Guess its time to go get drunk or stoned. Lefties are boring.
IMHO this and Beck’s rally are completely different and comparison is not that meaningful. Beck’s rally was more of a religious gathering and didn’t focus on individuals in the crowd or allow banners to be carried. This one is typical liberal “gimme” politics and protests. I expect to read later about the violence, muggings, and trash they leave behind.
It is now so bad that I am almost, almost sorry for the speakers who are trying to rouse a non existent crowd. Fortunately the empty, repetitive, banal rhetoric quickly extinguishes any sympathy.
They have written their speeches and by God they are going to deliver them regardless of the response. It is pitiful.
Slavery,right?
“It is pitiful’’. Isn’t it? Have you noticed how many of these speakers, especially the women, have these shrieking ,high-pitched, monotonous voices? I can only take thirty seconds at most of that and then my ears hurt.
Go take a look at the SNAP application...
Voter registration is right there...
There is video at the link. It is a lie by the way. There is no Satellite image. It would be on the wires if it existed, especially if it showed what the speaker claimed that this rally was bigger than Beck's.
