Disgraced St. Johns University dean, Cecilia Chang, who was charged earlier this month with embezzling over $1 million in donations from the college, was nabbed again today by the FBI and accused using scholarship students as domestic servants.
Chang, 57, allegedly forced students to do her laundry, clean her house, cook and chauffeur her son around.
Chang threatened the students and placed them in fear that if they refused to perform these personal services they would lose their scholarships and be unable to attend St. Johns, FBI Special Agent Kenneth Hosey wrote in the arrest warrant.

Don’t worry - Obama will free them. It just takes time.
Was anyone ever a graduate student research assistant or know someone who was? If you do, this really shouldn’t surprise you at all.
Professors are the very definition of hypocritical “limousine liberals” who are for the little guy in theory but treat absolutely everyone who isn’t at their “level” like dirt.
I’m not real familiar with the details, but the one they quoted sounds like a foreign student.
[Chang] let me be the housekeeper for her house and give me scholarship, one scholarship student wrote to the college. We have three housekeeper before, and she ask us work 122 days per year per person.
With such poor skill in English usage, how are these foreign students able to function in our universities? The entire student exchange program should be investigated.
When I was going to Katlick high school in Queens, I believe St. John’s had a policy that any New York Catholic High School graduate with an average over 95% could attend for free. Since the same student could, if living in NYC, also attend any campus of CUNY, including the, at the time, much more prestigous CCNY, they didn’t need to worry about being overwhelmed with applicants. Wonder how it is now?
She acts like she’s in the olde country!
When my mentor went for his graduate studies in the lab of a ‘survived the Concentration Camps’ Biologist she told him.
“You be here half the day.”
“Why only half the day?” he asked.
She looked perplexed. “How many hours in day?”
“24” he answered.
“You be here working half the day.” she concluded.
12 hours. That was her minimum. “Half the day”.
Gee! I wonder if she’s a democrat!!!
And the work they do, half the day or not, is supposed to be in furtherance of a successful defense of a scientifically novel thesis. Not getting professor Chang's laundry done.
My daughter just started as a grad research assistant. What sort of things should she be prepared for being tossed at her?
Unmentioned in the excerpt is that the main reason she was fired was because she “embezzled more than $1 million for jaunts to casinos and Victoria’s Secret shopping sprees”.
LOL!!! Great minds...think alike
I wonder if...never mind. ;)
I cannot believe this creature has not had her picture displayed at FR since she spent embezzled funds at Victoria’s Secret shops! ... Or was she on a delusions of grandeur trip?
weird how it all goes back to scum.........
As part of her scheme, prosecutors said, Ms. Chang siphoned a $250,000 donation from a Saudi princes foundation into a nonprofit organization she had created ostensibly for the university but that, in fact, was a personal piggy bank.
The prince, Alwaleed bin Talal Al Saud, a grandson of the founding king of modern Saudi Arabia, is a prolific contributor to universities and humanitarian causes. A center for Muslim-Christian understanding at Georgetown University was renamed for him after he made a $20 million gift in 2005. He was also the subject of a public rebuff by Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani, who rejected his $10 million donation for disaster relief after Sept. 11 because it came accompanied by a note urging the United States to re-evaluate its policies in the Middle East.
