For US Senate: DioGuardi
NY Post ^ | September 29, 2010 | Masthead Editorial

Posted on 09/29/2010 9:36:57 PM PDT by neverdem

The Constitution provides that each state shall have two senators, not one senator with two votes -- reason enough for New Yorkers to support ex-Rep. Joe DioGuardi over very-junior US Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand Nov. 2.

There is scarcely enough room to slide a slip of paper between Gillibrand and senior Sen. Chuck Schumer -- which speaks poorly enough of them both...

--snip--

He's not a household name. But he's running for a two-year term, and would have to face the voters again in 2012.

At the very least, DioGuardi deserves a chance to prove he's up to the job.

Kirsten Gillibrand had her two-year tryout -- and she flunked.

New Yorkers deserve an independent senator, which is why Joe DioGuardi is the better choice.

The Italian surname should be somewhat of an advantage in NY; I would think.

Joe DioGuardi is actually of Arbëresh, not Italian, descent on his father’s side; the Arbëreshë are the descendants of Catholic Albanians who moved to Italy to escape persecution from the (Muslim) Ottoman Turks. But, yes, the DioGuardi surname sounds Italian enough to be helpful in the NYC area.

Didn't the NY Post endorse Chuck U in 2004 and Hillary in 2006?

PALADINO should give him a shout out!

Paladino is talking on WABC AM 770 now.

Please contact me if you’re interested in being added on or taken off the Carl Paladino for Governor ping list. This looks to be a fairly high volume ping list for a while, probably until the election.

Ping to some links about Paladino.

Didn’t Paladino get into a near-blows argument with the NY Post reporter? He might not get their endorsement.

I probably would have voted for Paladino and Malpass if I lived in NY, but obviously I’m 100% behind DioGuardi now.

NOPE—NO way would I ever vote for this creepy friend of islamic terrorists.

He represents all the worst in the GOP.

I will not compromise by values and beliefs for a DIRTBAG like DioGuardi.

From your 2nd link:

"We have not and will not descend into the gutter with Paladino, Caputo and [GOP operative Roger] Stone,” said Cuomo spokesman Josh Vlasto. “We’re not going to start now because the people of New York deserve a better dialogue from their candidates and journalists."

What the people of NY deserve is a one-on-one debate between Cuomo and Paladino. This Josh Vlasto is a cr@pweasel.
