"Maria Pesqueira, president of Mujeres Latinas en Acción, asked U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin and U.S. Rep. Luis Gutierrez, both Democrats, to tell [Rahm] Emanuel that if he wants the support of the immigrant community in a mayoral race, he should make sure a plan to grant citizenship status to certain groups who are here now illegally," Medill News Service reported.
"The suggestion came Saturday at Casa Michoacan in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood, where Durbin and Gutierrez joined leaders from the Latino community at a rally for immigration reform and to support Democratic Senate candidate Alexi Giannoulias."
Rep. Gutierrez would no doubt delight in passing that message to Emanuel, since they are rivals for the Chicago mayoralty race.

Pilsen is not even a part of the United States. It is a Mexican colony, and its residents show unabashed allegiance to Mexico. The Mexican flag is the most dominant banner flown in Pilsen, and in Little Village, as well.
This is laughable. If Luis Gutierrez is in the race no non-latino stands a chance of getting a single latino vote. So the “threat” is meaningless.
