who is it that determines the "closeness"? Those with experience in divining hanging chads. And perhaps reading sheep's entrails.

LOL...how many Alaskans can spell her last name correctly? This sounds like a phony poll.

"Her name was Magill, she called herself Lil, but everyone knew her as Nancy." "Now, she and her man, who called himself Dan - were in the next room at the hoedown."
Gotta be of a certain age to know that one. And, I do ;-)

Such a small sample of 300 registered voters would indicate a M.O.E. of about 8-10%. Add to that the obvious fact people called assume Murkowski will have her name on the ballot, which she will not and we all can see how useless this poll really is, can’t we?
To: gumbyandpokey
Intrade had her down 50 points. Real money being bet.

“11 points? Wow!”
Let’s see. Murky led Joe by 32-39 in the Murkowski push polls pre-Primary, and lost by 2. Does this mean that she is going to lose by 20 this time since her faux lead is only 11?
Seriously, all these polls assume she is on the ballot which she is not. She would lose in a landslide if she were on the ballot. The fact that she is not on the ballot and has no organized party support means she will have no effect whatsoever.
A miserable end to an undistinguished career. I predict that she will get between 2 and 5% of the vote. Miller will win an outright majority, nearly 60%. The Dem will get the balance. Lisa Murkowski’s write-in campaign is the political equivalent of spitting in the ocean. Au revoir, Lisa!!

People said Crist would destroy Rubio with his independent bid for pretty much the same reason. Voters don’t like crybabies who flip the bird at their party’s voters as an electoral strategy to hold on to sweet, sweet power.
