Ping - this one left me speechless. It’s good to see someone on the inside recognize Obama as the laziest President we have ever had.

I could have made that up myself. I swear, I could see it from a mile away: this is a man who wants to BE president, not a man who wants to do the WORK of the presidency. Really, it's a lot like me when I was working to get into the Ph.D. program at the university where I'd done my Master's. I wanted to be in the program, to get that degree, to have those letters, to be Dr. _______ ... but after three years of coursework, when it was time to do fieldwork, I had to admit to myself: I had no passion for it. I simply liked being "in a Ph.D. program." It made my mother proud, it made ME proud... but I didn't care about what I was actually doing. I was just ambitious to be the first person in my family to get that far. So I dropped out and became a teacher, and I'm happy.
But anyway, I could smell that same thing going on with Obama from the beginning. Just looking at his speedy upward trajectory, the way he started angling for the next level the minute he attained something, as well as the lack of actual work or accomplishments, said it all. He's good at winning prizes, not doing actual work. And he's way too hooked on approval to be standing where the buck stops. To that kind of personality, the buck looks like a train coming at you.

“we were all led to believe that this guy was some kind of intellectual giant, right? Ivy League and all that. Well, that is not what I saw.”
In other words, Barry is lost without the teleprompter. Maybe David Axelrod should run for the Dem nomination in 2012 and just bypass the puppet.

“2008 gave America an incredibly charismatic candidate for President of the United States.”
My charisma meter must be way off. The first time I saw this flim-flam man, the hair on the back of my neck stood up exactly as it does when I see a snake. I don’t know... is that “charisma”?

I dont see the Republicans offering up a candidate as powerful as Obama. I mean Sarah Palin? Really? Obama would defeat her by a 20 point landslide!

A bunch of idiots elected a president who was only in the senate for, what, 3 years and had no background in government but said exactly what they wanted to hear “Hope and change” and now he is losing it, surprise! Next time these numbnuts better ask for more than ideological rhetoric before electing a man to the most powerful office in the world (well, maybe that was before Obama). We tried to warn them but they knew better - right!

...he plays a lot of golf, and watches a lot of television ESPN mainly. Ill tell you this if you want to see President Obama get excited about a conversation, turn it to sports. That gets him interested. You start talking about Congress, or some policy, and he just kinda turns off. Its really very strange.OMG!

Think again. If Obama was given the same treatment as Sarah Palin, George W Bush or even Hillary Clinton, he would have collapsed like a house of cards.

A fascinating article to be sure, but I completely disagree with the author’s following point:
<<
Can he win in 2012? Oh absolutely. Who else campaigns as well as Barack Obama? Nobody. What politician is more loved and supported by the media? Nobody. I dont see the Republicans offering up a candidate as powerful as Obama. I mean Sarah Palin? Really? Obama would defeat her by a 20 point landslide! Romney? The Republicans will enjoy these midterm elections, but 2012 is Obamas year if he chooses to run again. As a president, Obama has many flaws, but as a candidate, he is near flawless.
>>
If this were true, then Obama’s “powerful” campaign skills would have been able to prevent the massive upsets in key senate and gubernatorial races in Massachusetts, New Jersey, Virginia, which are all Democrat strongholds. And Democrat house and senate incumbents wouldn’t almost unanimously be shunning Obama as they currently campaign for re-election.
The only reason why Obama was so successful in his 2008 presidential campaign was because he was widely perceived as something new and different in the political arena. Thanks to some massive propaganda from a compliant American “media”, voters believed they were electing someone who was post-political, post-partisan, post-racial, etc. In other words, he packaged himself as an empty slate that seduced millions of voters into project their own personal political fantasies onto him, regardless of how detached their perceptions were from reality.
The major problem Obama has going forward is that he now has a record to run on and Americans overwhelmingly HATE his agenda and policies. The bloom is off the rose and thus he will never, ever be able to recapture that “magic” he had in 2008 because Americans now know who the man is and are steadfastly rejecting him.
Bottom line... Obama is most likely toast if he runs for re-election in 2008.
To: Iam1ru1-2
Can he win in 2012? Oh absolutely. Who else campaigns as well as Barack Obama? Nobody. Obama is a creation of the media. He does NOT campaign even moderately well. He cannot command specifics on any sbject. he cannot answer simple questions unless the answers are on the teleprompter.
Without a completely fawning media, he fails utterly. There are cracks in the media's support of "the won".
The author is therefore incorrect in his assertions.
