A former housekeeper for Meg Whitman was "emotionally and financially abused'' during her nine years of employment, an attorney alleged today, adding that the Republican gubernatorial candidate knew the woman was an illegal immigrant.
"In short it was a nightmare,'' said attorney Gloria Allred, who said Nikki Diaz Santillan worked as a housekeeper for Whitman for nine years before she was fired last year.
Allred said that during the woman's years of employment, Whitman caused her "to feel exploited, disrespected, humiliated and emotionally and financially abused.''
"The relationship was terminated last year by Ms. Whitman for what appeared to be political reasons involving Ms. Whitman's decision to run for governor,'' Allred said.
Allred contended that Whitman knew her client was an illegal immigrant, but kept her employed until she decided to run for governor.
Tom Hiltachk, Whitman's attorney, denied the allegation.
"This person was initially hired by Meg Whitman in November 2000,'' Hiltachk said in remarks reported on the Los Angeles Times website. "She filled out standard (Internal Revenue Service) forms and Department of Justice forms and presented her Social Security card and California driver's license. She filled out immigration forms that stated under penalty of perjury that she was a lawful resident.''
Hiltachk said the woman admitted in June 2009 that she was not a legal resident.
"She was immediately suspended and terminated on June 29, 2009,'' he said.
Whitman spokeswoman Andrea Jones Rivera said Allred's news conference was politically motivated. She called Allred "a shameful manipulator'' who is a supporter of Jerry Brown -- Whitman's Democratic opponent in the hotly contested governor's race.
"With the polls tied, it comes as no surprise that the morning after a successful debate for Meg that the sleaze machine of the political left is now focused on the politics of personal destruction.''
I saw businesses like that all over Toronto when I visited 3 years ago. They all advertised “Souvenir ID cards” over their doors. I was stunned to see such activity going on so openly.
Apparently, the US isn’t the only country where the government isn’t taking illegal “immigration” seriously. The Canadians seem to have their own little problem.

Did the illegal intercept the letters?
Is the illegal right, that Whitman only fired here when she decided to run for CA governor?

But why wouldn't Whitman act after receiving multiple letters from SSN and IRS administration regarding the SSN, as the illegal alleged?
Whitman denied receiving any of the letters.... Why would Whitman tell the illegal, "You've never seen me before" Did the illegal alien lie?
In addition, if the illegal was using her sisters ID, why would not the authorities, IRS and SSA not know two people were using the same ID? They did not live together and had different addresses.

You have obviously not had much contact with the illegal domestic servants here in the US. Being in Texas I know what the relationship is between a totally vulnerable illegal and his/her American owner in domestic jobs. There is so much stress, fear and abuse, it is sick. You can imagine how much compassion and integrity wealthy humanists have for their totally dependent inferiors. If you don’t yet know that progressives look upon the people they desire to rule as inferiors, I can’t help you.
The wide spread abuse of illegals (and their children) is one of the important reasons the border should be closed. Open borders don’t serve the illegals and it does not serve America.
Whitman was the chief CEO of Ebay, which was much more lucrative than cleaning her own toilets. I should have put the “sarcasm” note at the end of my post.
Times must be tough for Allred if this skank is the best publicity fodder she can find.
The relationship between an American employer and their illegal domestic servants is hardly equal.
It’s an enormous plus for Whitman and shows just how dumb liberals really are.

There are cases of a single SSN being used by dozens of illegals, and nothing is done about it. More than 15 percent of SSNs are associated with two or more people.
If she was notified, why don't you present a copy of the notification?
