"A confused and misguided teenager"?
There were three confused and misguided teenagers who made horrific mistakes.
You personally are not displaying anything close to Christian compassion.
Leave the lynch mob.
Yes. If you don’t like it, make a fuss. Dont videotape with pleasure and post it to humiliate him.
Gee whiz, cannot you see the wrongness of that.
I didn't do that either. I pointed out that his immoral actions gave 2 immoral people power over him. And that they used it. That doesn't make him less of a victim. It simply states how he became one. Without his immoral behavior, they would have nothing to use against him.
Again I really don't see where anyone is questioning the value of moral behavior or justifying his acts...it is not necessary.
Then you didn't read most of the thread. There are plenty of people excusing immoral sexual behavior. Not specifically homosexual behavior.
I thought you did in post 76 ....If you want to say the room mate shouldn't have put it online - well the deceased shouldn't have kicked out his room mate for the tryst - it's about even.
and Responsibility2nd in post 127 to name 2 he HAD done it with a girl... If he was a normal guy... Chances are hed still be alive today. Not dead from his own shame and guilt.
I could be wrong...
If you don't know, read the Word about forgiveness. We are NOT all simply sinners. There are repentant, forgiven sinners. And there are unrepentant sinners.
What hypocrisy are you referring to? Are you saying that just because nobody is perfect, that it is wrong to point out that illicit sex, what to speak of homosexual acts, are wrong?
I don't get your point. Other than I'm wrong for saying that illicit sex is wrong?
How old are you? College kids humiliate.
And those who are repentent turn away from their sin.
I used to be an alcoholic, drug using, thieving (occasionally) lying sometimes, promiscuous slut.
Forty years ago, that is. I changed, repented, and begged God to forgive me. I haven’t been perfect since - had a few falldowns - was sorry, and changed even more seriously.
Of course I still sin - sometimes I get angry when I shouldn’t, find fault when I shouldn’t, eat too much, etc. But I don’t do what I used to do, thank God.
Yes but is it right to do so? No.
I am old and I know college kids very well. ANd this kind of humiliation, totally unnecessary, was lethal. Wouldn’t you agree?
Junior high school and early high school kids humiliate. THis is not ordinary for college.
So because he couldn’t take the heat, he offs himself and the roommate who isn’t into his dorm smelling like $h!t is to blame?
Hardly the same thing as saying only Clementi was at fault.
And I note you posted only one part of one of my many posts to try to evoid the part of the blame I applied to the room mate and his girlfriend.
I think you need to read the entire thread, from the beginning, and you’ll see that there wasn’t lying and bullying by those standing up for virtue.
There were plenty of attacks on those promoting sexual morality, though.
Is it right for two guys to be gettin’ on my dorm room?
A lot of us have repented and changed. It doesn’t mean we’re perfect. And we never will be. It just means we acknowledge wrong doing and try to be better people.
“I dont think Granddaddy would be proud of you now.”
Well, I hope he is. You can google his eulogy - I posted it to FR.
And when he had my parents married (with a shotgun), I think he knew I was going to work out.
Of course, my kids say I am a genetic defect - damn perfectionists.
I think I see where we are differing in our viewing the immoral behavior both conducted by the teenagers in this article and by posters on this thread. I do agree that all three teens engaged in sinful acts, but I feel a deeper and more disturbing dimension of immorality is reflected in sins conducted out of maliciousness.
Is it right to run down the hall to your girlfriends room, turn on the webcam and tape it, the distribute it? No.
Committing a felony by line streamingwhat went on in a private room is not a way to embarrass him. Tell the kid - NO you cannot have the dorm room for sex - go somewhere else. All he need was to say NO or stay in the dorm and tell the kid to somewhere else for sex.
