Officials in Indianapolis are turning up the heat on a bakery that refused to take an order from a student group seeking rainbow-colored cupcakes for next month's National Coming Out Day.
A spokesman for Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard said city officials are conducting an inquiry into the bakery, Just Cookies, which declined to take the order last week from a diversity group at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), which ordered the cupcakes for Oct. 11.
"The city's position is, it's the city's market, it's a public place," mayoral spokesman Robert Vane told FoxNews.com. "There is no litmus test for buying services of products at the City Market."
Just Cookies owner Lilly Stockon defended her bakery's decision last week, first telling Fox 59 that the shop doesn't make cupcakes, and then telling a reporter that she didn't have sufficient materials to make the the rainbow colors.
But her co-owner husband, David Stockton, said he had a different reason for refusing to take the order.
"I explained we're a family-run business, we have two young, impressionable daughters and we thought maybe it was best not to do that," he told Fox 59.

Or if you live there, flood them with orders and whatnot.

You Queers have got to go. Go arrange some flowers, or plant a garden or something.
LOL!
[ I just got back from this place. Just Cookies is located in the Indianapolis City Market. I lead a public Bible study group in the city market every Wed over lunch hour. (http://citymarketbiblestudy.blogspot.com/) A lot of the vendors in the market are Christian and support Just Cookies big time in this controversy. Actually, their business has gone up and people are coming in from all over the state to buy cookies and give them moral support. ]
Anyone living there should show them the real meaning of capitalism.
Thank you.
Thanks!

Too bad Rush shys away from homosexual issues.
This could be bigger than Dan’s bake sale AND it will have a better long term result.
perhaps they were drunk or high on drugs.
Besides what do you expect from a group who preaches a behavior that advocates erroneous use of human bodies?
If they can’t figure out the human body, why would they understand a cookie store does not sell cupcakes?
“You will make zee cupcakes and you will make zem for zee homosexuals. And you will like zit.”
(/Big Brother)
What I don’t understand is WHY these people do this. It’s just too much energy wasted. There are far more important things to worry about these days than whether a bakery declines your order. It smacks of being petty, vindictive and hateful. To the members of this group I have but two words: GROW UP!
If they have so much time on their hands, they can volunteer at a shelter, food pantry or other charity. A FAR better use of time that benefits both the volunteer and the recipient. Just a passing thought.
They do it because they want to punish people who do not agree that “gay is good”. Homosexual activists have done this sort of thing for years. Target some Christian business (say wedding photographers as mentioned above) and demand that they take pics of their same sex ceremony, etc.
It’s an agenda. They mean to do this. On purpose.
Or if a bakery was requested to make a big cookie with "Marriage = Man + Woman" and some moonbat owner turned them down, they'd be praised.
I like what this owner said later in the interview that really hit home. He said he wouldn't put obscenities on a cookie either. What an apt comparison.
Thanks, conservativegramma! Keep up the pressure and make sure this moron isn’t elected next time around.
That's not the most egregious, though. E-harmony's business model was purposely forced out of existence because of "affronted" gays.
Not necessarily. This story could be the best thing that's ever happened to Just Cookies.
LOL! Good one!!!
Um... Bingo?
The World Turned Upside Down.
If our civilization is going to survive this, there’s a lot of fighting and winning that needs to be done.
I know...paging Captain Obvious.
