LOS ANGELES -- There was a deadly shooting Tuesday between LAPD officers and a felony suspect who opened fire on them with an AK-47 assault rifle.
The shooting happened late Tuesday afternoon in the 1600 block of Temple Ave, not far from Echo Park.
LAPD officials say officers were following the convicted felon through the Downtown L.A. area when suddenly he stopped, stepped out of his car and opened fire at officers with the assault rifle.
Officers immediately returned fire with their weapons, striking the gunman several times and killing him.
None of the officers was hit in the gunfight nor were any innocent by-standers injured.
Goes way back ... "And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives." ... level zero morality, dig it.

If they know he was a convict, you would think that by now they would know his name. But maybe saying his name might create the impression that all the people of his kind “tote” AK-47s. And the MSM knows that “toting” has a huge stigma.
Not in the earlier FR Post where some off duty state policeman stops the motorcyclist and gets dirty because the citizen videotapes the event, then enlists his fellows to search the citizens home (without signed search warrant) and then charge the guy with a plethora of charges just to show the citizen some pain.
Two different situations, one handled correctly and one an abomination. You see the difference, don't you W?
It was an AK 47 that the kid had yesterday.
I don’t know if you saw this thread or not. I didn’t occur to me to ping you last night. There is a chart at post #10 that might give you a chuckle. I didn’t find out just how funny it is until this morning, when pnh102 was kind enough to explain it to me. :)
I would assume they wouldn't know he was a convict unless they knew his ID...Just a guess though.
I have no idea what you’re talking about.
No distinction here. Just good police work by good cops who did their job as they should have. I don’t stick up for cops when they abuse their power or are corrupt. Same with members of the military or any other profession for that matter. I don’t let a few bad apples ruin the bunch. People like you don’t like police officers in general probably because you have had incidents with the law most likely on the wrong side of it. If you want to post links to me here on FR give it your best shot.I already have a hundred ready for you and the time to post them. Take care of yourself Zuben.
Rule One: If you shoot at cops, they will shoot back at you.
As of now they still haven’t identified him.
Ya, now,.....about all of those other cockroaches!!
Thanks for the chuckle.
You’re so welcome. If you knew how stupifyingly confused those pictures made me the first time I looked at them, you’d probably regret helping me out with my gun questions. ‘She’s just WAY too hopeless,’ you’d be muttering under your breath. ;)
Hey. No one ever learned by NOT ASKING QUESTIONS.
Well one thing I did right: I asked the right guy! Thanks again for all the excellent and invaluable help you gave me!
Also, thanks to pnh102 for letting me in on the secret of which of those guns is an actual AK-47. I would have never figured it out on my own. ;)
