ARTIST: Sam Cooke
TITLE: Wonderful World (Don’t Know Much)

Don’t know much about history
Don’t know much biology
Don’t know much about a science book
Don’t know much about the French I took
But I do know that I love you
And I know that if you love me too
What a wonderful world this would be

Don’t know much about geography
Don’t know much trigonometry
Don’t know much about algebra
Don’t know what a slide rule is for
But I do know one and one is two
And if this one could be with you
What a wonderful world this would be

Now, I don’t claim to be an “A” student
But I’m trying to be
For maybe by being an “A” student baby
I can win your love for me

{Repeat first verse}

And Democrats know even less about politics and current events that matter.

Going through the survey questions (found elsewhere on the net) I observed that several of them were cast in such a way that ONLY an atheist would select any of the answers.

As usual, its a misleading survey.

The average American may not know much about organized Religion but they do know about God. That’s all that counts when you come right down to it.

300 words. Just like all the sites we must excerpt. The posting page software will let you know if you do something wrong.

Yes, look at who knows about religion, and I can tell you why!

ok, me first! I am a practicng bona fide Pagan. I am a Viet/Cold War vet, so don’t think you can go stomping on my 1st Amendment rights.

Why?

Who is it that steps on everybody else’s? The stalwart Catholic, for telling the Protestant that ‘they will get over it, and come home’. The stalwart Baptist, that thinks that everybody, but the Baptists are an unsaved bunch, and going to hell. The Pentecostals, for thinking that the Baptists don’t go far enough. The Moslems for thinking that, like the early Catholics did during the Crusades, Jews die first, than the rest of the world, if they say no to the extremist mechanations of their faith. the Mormons and Jehovah’s Witnesses, I will lump in with the Baptists. They consider themselves ‘christian’, and like the Catholics, have another book to follow, besides the bible.

Now, in all of this, what pattern do you see? The pattern of proselytism!

Ok, now, what groups do you really know that do NOT proselytize?

I’ll give you a pass, if you said the Amish. The Mennonites do proselytize, as taking their Christian mission, seriously.

Then who do we have left? Your far-eastern religions, i.e., Shintoism, Buddhism, Sikhism, and the Hindis, with all their different divisions within. We have our own First People, who thanks to the Spanish, had their beliefs stepped on, terribly, so not them. Now, we have the umbrella term, ‘Pagan’. We include those Far East religions, since the term ‘pagan’ has come to mean anything outside the good ol’ christian circle.

It is, we, the pagans, who do not proselytize. Yet, we must ready to defend our beliefs, (sounds familiar to you christians, does this not?), against those that would assail us for not being whatever belief the assailer holds dear! So, “to know your enemy” is half the battle. We all believe and agree that should one wish to learn, they will seek out a teacher, and that teacher had best be ready for the student.
