Democrats are considering cramming as many as 20 pieces of legislation into the lame-duck session they plan to hold after the Nov. 2 election.

The array of bills competing for floor time shows the sense of urgency among Democratic lawmakers to act before the start of the 112th Congress, when Republicans are expected to control more seats in the Senate and House.

If our guys can’t at least filibuster and stall this stuff for two lousy months, they aren’t worth a _ _ _ _.

This is no surprise. We KNEW they would do this.

It is abject contempt of the American People.

I'd say "Can you spell M.A.R.C.H. on W.A.S.H.I.N.G.T.O.N.??"

Lame duck sessions should be banned, by the Constitution if necessary.

There's no reason for Congress to reconvene after an election.

Another dark of the night, smokey room (not cigars), rush-rush, sneak attack on America. Another betrayal to the principles of fairness, transparency, and the principles of good governance our Founders gave to us...Another reason to force these people into unemployment as private citizens.

Sen. Jeff Bingaman (D-N.M.), chairman of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee, is intent on passing a renewable electricity standard.

What is a “renewable electricity standard”?

Lame duck sessions are perfectly legitimate. I can imagine many pieces of emergency legislation that I and even you would probably support. What is not acceptable is to totally ignore the consent of the governed - and there will be consequences, beyond being voted out of office, for those who violate the trust. Let us hope that the crowd of bills blocks any mischief from becoming law.

lol

this is just a scare tactic, if they wanted to push something through so bad, they would do it now. Because we will still be able to filibuster them after the election, so they have nothing to gain and everything to lose by waiting.

I disagree completely.

Lame ducks have nothing to lose, pretty hard to threaten them. AND we are forgetting lame duck RINOS. Guarantee some of those scum will turn on us at that time. Payback. Look at how they've gone after Miller, O'Donnell. IMO, losing RINOs will be eager to help the Dems stick it to us.

If the 41 Reps in the Senate hold firm, nothing will pass.

Pelosi's congress is not thinking about American's or America...they are instead trying to take America to an EU style Socialism cum Communist type government. We can stop them by calling and faxing our elected to stop this criminal and unconstitutional behavior. What they should be doing is to give this country some idea of how we are going to be taxed in 2011.....they are not addressing this - actually Pelosi does not have the votes she needs to tax us and to socialize us. Not any more. Two hundred years ago, when legislators had to campaign in their home state and then travel to DC by horseback or boat, they were necessary. Now, they are a tremendous conflict of interest. Today, it only takes a few hours to get to DC from any state in the country now.

The outgoing legislators have nothing to lose, and can do all sorts of perverse things that the voters would never have authorized them to do. That is our fear now.

and they will give Card Check another college try, I’m sure of it. These unions would not be out there busting their hump for Democrats without securing that promise.
