They might not be dangerous, but they're armed.
Seeking an added layer of protection, more high-profile celebrities are seeking permits to carry guns in New York City, according to New York's Daily News.
Among the big names licensed to pack heat: Marc Anthony, Robert De Niro, Donald Trump, and his son, Donald Jr., Mets third baseman David Wright, and Martha Stewart's daughter, radio host Alexis Stewart.
Anthony, 42, has a special permit that allows him to carry a loaded weapon in the city, and has a similar permit for Nassau County, where he and Jennifer Lopez have a $2 million home in Brookville.
One reason for the rise in interest seems to be the vulnerability some celebrities feel in the Internet age, where so much personal information can be accessed online. "They can get their own security, but with the Internet, it is much easier to find people," attorney John Skylar Chambers tells the News. "They don't want to find someone on their lawn at five in the morning."

And this is why most of us will never live in NYC.
Trying their best to prevent folks from using their unabriged 2A rights.
It’s not the 2nd Amendment ‘privilege’ it’s a RIGHT.
It’s great the way the libs also want to force everyone to live in the cities by enacting policies that do exactly that.
Then they fall under these types of ‘laws’ and ‘for everyone’s safety’ the city will be a gun-free zone...
Well, this begs the question, if gun ownership is a right, how can anybody be forced to pay money for it. Isn’t this akin to poll taxes for voting rights?
...I’d be more impressed with a photo of him serving in Vietnam.
Giddy-Up!! ....
Nice 552, Mr. DeNiro. Can I have that?
I have no idea how they can get away with half the stuff that they do. Last I heard they would even throw a visiting cop in jail just for possessing a weapon in NYC.
And why shouldn't he. He's a highly trained famous actor or something. These people can obviously be trusted with firearms unlike plumbers, secretaries and store clerks.
“the city will be a gun-free zone...”
Gun free and smoke-free.
Recent regs went into play that would bar smoking in many public, outdoor areas.
Gee...isn’t that sweet? They don’t want to “find someone on their lawn at five in the morning”...and because they’re just SOOOOOOOOOOOO special, and SOOOOOOOOO important to society, they get special treatment in a notoriously anti-Constitutional RIGHT state - while the rest of the bourgesoise peasants get to just sit there and COMPLY OR DIE if attacked.
New Yorkers, if this doesn’t fire you all up to start throwing democrats out of office, you deserve what you have, for sure.
And these “celebs” are probably some of the biggest anti-rights loudmouths in the past - like Rosie O.
Un-frigging believable. I was in a good mood before I saw this article...
We don't need no stinking permits..........
easy there cupcake, the more these fools flaunt their us vs them mindset, the better off FReedom becomes...
check the NC pizza hut CCW story, 2 outta 3 BGs dead...thatll put a smile back on yer face...
” “They don’t want to find someone on their lawn at five in the morning.”
But it is perfectly acceptable if the rest of us have to contend with a trespasser at 5 in the morning.
I was almost murdered in my apartment in Boston when I was in college. I have carried a gun ever since (35 years). I carried a gun without a permit. I later carried a gun with a CCW. Better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.
“Cupcake?”
I prefer to think myself as the whole f***ing PIE!!
Hahaha!
Roger that, brother
;-)
'pie'...Mmm Mmm Mmmmmmmmmm...
ive carried a lil bit of everything since middleschool...the thought of being defenseless vs a crew of punks never sounded too enjoyable...
Whats the definition of rich in NYC? If it's the democrap definition it's a Republican with a nickel in his pocket.
