Yep .. didn’t agree with him all the time. of course, but I sure miss him ... and Laura ... they were the last of the class acts and you never doubted their love of America.
It isn't necessary to agree with someone all the time. In fact, it's humanly impossible to do so. We are all unique individuals with our own totally unique genetics and life experiences that shape us and our thinking.
The single biggest problem I believe conservatives have is this insistence on 100% ideological purity that brooks no tolerance for individual points of disagreement. This impulse, which is totalitarian in nature, is so strong on the Right that it's scary.
In theory, conservatives supposedly value the rights of the individual over the rights of the state. However, you can see attempts at enforced group-think every single day on FR, as well as in the Right's (and, perhaps, Leftist trolls) manic attempts to label any Republican who strays from that group-think as a "RINO" or worse.
