Rothfus looks for '06 redux against Altmire
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette ^ | 09/27/2010 | Daniel Malloy

When Keith Rothfus hits the campaign trail, the bespectacled Republican attorney from Edgeworth spends a lot of time talking about 2006.

That was the year when a political upstart overcame a big fundraising disadvantage to unseat Pennsylvania's 4th Congressional District incumbent, who was tied to an unpopular president during a wave year for the opposition party. And Mr. Rothfus is looking to replicate Rep. Jason Altmire's path in what is looking like a similar electoral tide -- though this time, it's the GOP advancing on the Democrats.

These GOP candidates are good, solid conservatives in the Western PA (greater Pittsburgh) area. We are lucky to have them as candidates. As you can see from the poll numbers, they are gaining ground on the incumbent Dems. Please keep these people (and the Pgh area) in your prayers & consider sending them a few bucks.

TEA Party members and sympathizers should help these good candidates fund a creditable campaign. The Dems have taxpayer stimulus money to fatten their war chests and our conservative candidates deserve a chance to compete with these leeches.

Rothfus is invisible... no ads, no mailers, no door knockers or door hangers... nothing, nada, zip. Meanwhile, Altmire is all over the tv and radio touting his “independence” from Pelosi and Obama, talking about voting against TARP and Obamacare.

From what I’ve been told by a dem operative, once they had the votes, he was given permission by Pelosi to vote no. Up until that time, he waffled and was officially on the fence.

Rothfus should be going door to do in this district to introduce himself. Otherwise, he’s toast and the former lobbyist for the UPMC Health System will get re-elected.

yes I wish Sarah Palin or some other prominent TEA party person would endorse Melissa Haluszczak. She’s a tea partier & really needs the national attention to put Mike Doyle out of business. He’s fed off the taz payer trough long enough.

I can’t comment on Rothfus since I don’t live in his district BUT I can say our candidate, Melissa Haluzczak, has been fighting an uphill battle with media attention & money. She needs donations to get more signs out there.

I met Keith Rothfus at a horse show in Lawrence Co. over Labor Day weekend. He was asked some very specific questions about healthcare, budgeting and the size of government and I liked all of his answers.

I’m following him through FB and he seems to be campaigning non-stop. Have also started seeing some tv commercials in the last week.
