The Roots Of Obama's Rage
Regnery Publishing Inc ^ | 2010 | Dinesh D'Souza

Posted on 09/27/2010 8:34:07 AM PDT by tarpit

A very interesting read. Dinesh argues that what really motivates Barack Obama "is an inherited rage - an often masked, but profound rage that comes from his African father; an anti colonialist rage against Western dominance, and most especially against the wealth and power of the very nation Barack Obama now leads"

At first, I thought this was going to be a race baiting type of book and I really have no tolerance for that. Instead, I am finding the book particularly interesting.

In chapter 1, for example, Dinesh depicts Obama, the media portrayed First Black American, as having nothing in common with Black America. He grew up in a privileged life, not the product of the American Civil Rights movements, and not the product of American slavery by lineage.

I found this interesting because I remember during the campaign, the media reporting about Barack Obama reading a Time magazine article about a black man who tried to turn his skin white. In researching for his book, however, Dinesh found Time never published such a story. In fact, they could not find a story like that in any magazine. So Dinesh deduces the influence for Barack to make such a statement may have come from Fanon's book "Black Skin, White Mask". Dinesh writes "Fanon was describing a North African Negro who is desperately eager to alter his skin color and become white like the French rulers of his country."

Dinesh argues that of the three dreams 1) American Dream; 2) Martin Luther King Dream; and 3) The Dreams From My Father, it is the last one that really motivates Barack Obama. Dinesh argues that "obama is on a systemic campaign against the colonial system that destroyed his father's dreams" and that is what motivates him.

Anybody else have thoughts on this book?

I’ve ordered it from amazon. The excerpts I’ve read are fascinating, and some of them confirm a lot of my suspicions about the man.

Beck had a long and very detailed interview with Dinesh a few weeks back.

I found this guy very informed, detailed and articulate to the max. This guy gets it, possibly even more so than Glenn. I will get my hands on this book ASAP

Much of his central thesis is in this Forbes article:

I haven’t read the book, but I heard Dinesh on a radio talk show discussing it.

It certainly explains a lot about hussein’s anti-American mindset and disgusting behavior towards our allies... like sending the bust of Winston Churchill back to England as if it was his own personal property.

The Kenyan needs to be impeached ASAP.

Didn’t he discover when going off to college when he went looking for his papers, that what he had been told about his father and his birth were lies? He said as much in his own “autobiography”

The entire Weather Underground/December 4th Movement etc was populated with snob elitist rejectionsists who resented their own parents and the wealth that supported them - ie, Ayers and Dohrn, Boudin, Eva Rosahn, etc among others. Just read their family backgournds.

He obviously was very cold to his mother and grandmother, had virtually no relationship with them, as his indifferent or hostile avoidance of them showed, at the end of their lives

His daddy dreams destroyed? Hardly

Dinesh D'Souza is spot on! Just look at the WH reaction to it. If you're taking flak, it means you are directly over the target.

Any analysis of 0bama needs to include the male influences in his life. (Read Obama's college era poem Pop, especially the lines, "Pop. . . points out the same amber stain on his shorts that I've got on mine, and makes me smell his smell, coming from me," and see what you think.)

I just want to know why this country places so much importance on ‘dreaming’

Dreamers are indolent and unrealistic losers. If you are not done dreaming by the time you are 11, maybe there’s some cognitive problem going on. At some point, psychologically well adjusted people stop dreaming in order to devote energy to working.

By 11 most people begin taking responsibility for themselves and determine what work and effort lies ahead for them.... They begin to focus on ‘doing’ and they save ‘dreaming’ for when they are asleep. It is a little escapist and unwholesome for grown adults to perpetually ‘dream’/remain preoccupied with dreaming or overvalue the importance of ‘dreaming’.

However, everything in the American culture and social system seems to elevate the ‘dreamer’ the level of the achiever... and I don’t think there is even a comparison.

Our bonehead grade schools, TV commercials, MSM, etc. speak as if it is ‘dreaming’ is the natural and preferable activity over ‘WORKING’, NOT!!!

Comments on Obama:

How could he have inherited/learned an anti-colonialist, angry black attitude from his father when he didn’t know the man? I personally think he was spoon-fed that by his grandfather’s good bud Frank Davis.

He has always been nonproductive, and deep inside, he knows that he is a worthless parasite. This brings out feelings of resentment and hostility toward achievers and producers and the desire to plunder and destroy them.

Obama’s desire to even the playing field, has as its central tactic, the tool of Marxism. Marxism will certainly take America down a notch along with the hard work that took generations to make.

” Marxism will certainly take America down a notch along with the hard work that took generations to make.”

For some, that would be just fine, just as long as they take down those whose success they resent.
