I saw a bit more of the text of the article on the link from Drudge. The author makes a fallacious conclusion that minorities live in the poor part of town. The reality is that people who have done poorly in life tend to live in the poor part of town because that is what they can afford. People also tend to move where they can live in proximity to persons like themselves. There is affinity in racial, cultural and ethnic values that draw them together. Just look at a college cafeteria at the lunch hour. Tables with mixed groups tend to actually be aggregated around a common class or activity. Absent that reason to gather around a concept, the tables tend to be organized by racial/ethnic lines. That natural association was not dictated by school policy. It was selected by the individuals entering the cafeteria.

While those who believe that they abhor “segregation” because it means one thing and one thing only to them - bigotry - they can’t understand that a component of human nature makes choices. sometimes, for a positive reason, the positive choice of shared values, which can produce the appearance of bigotry, when no bigotry is meant.
