The Arabs are still stuck on Rejection

Last week Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad angrily left a UN Ad-Hoc Liaison Committee meeting and canceled a scheduled subsequent press conference with Deputy Foreign Minister Daniel Ayalon in New York. He did so after Ayalon refused to approve a summary of the meeting which said “two states” but did not include the words “two states for two peoples.”. Ayalon said afterwards “What I say is that if the Palestinians are not willing to talk about two states for two peoples, let alone a Jewish state for Israel, then there’s nothing to talk about, … if the Palestinians mean, at the end of the process, to have one Palestinian state and one bi-national state, this will not happen.” .

Days earlier, at the beginning of a Cabinet meeting, PM Netanyahu said, “The foundation of the state of Israel is that it is the nation-state of the Jewish people,”… “That is the real basis of the end of demands from the state of Israel and the end of the conflict between the two peoples.”

According to TimesLive, “Netanyahu has made recognition of Israel’s Jewish character a central demand, suggesting the Palestinians’ failure to do so means they have not come to terms with Israel’s existence.” Perhaps this will put to rest second thoughts on the wisdom or necessity of demanding Palestinian recognition of Israel as a Jewish State.

The truth of the matter is that the Arabs are stuck on rejection. They have been since the signing of the Palestinian Mandate in1922. It was “in favour of the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people”, and mandated that Britain, the Mandatory Power, “shall facilitate Jewish immigration under suitable conditions and shall encourage, in co-operation with the Jewish agency referred to in Article 4, ”

Most of the Arabs in Gaza and the West Bank of the Jordan came from Jordan. When they came to the land that is now Israel, the term Palestine had only one meaning: the Jewish homeland. They wouldnh’t be caught dead calling themselves “Palestinians.” In recent years the former migrants from TransJordan started calling themselves “Palestininians, falsely claiming the term has something to do with them. Jordan and the many other Arab countries can easily give these Arabs the right of return to Jordan. Their socalled brethren are not their friends; if they were, they’d absorb the West Bank Arabs the same way Israel absorbed close to one million Jews whom the Arabs expelled from Arab countries following the formal establishment of the state of Israel by the United Nations.

You are right. Jordan does not want the Palestinians as it was the Palestinians who tried to overthrow the king of Jordan. The Palestinians and their leaders are nothing but trouble for both Jordan and Egypt which does not want them either. The Palestinians allow themselves to be led by a bunch of trouble makers who are out to make a fortune off of the backs of them.

It´s ridiculous to talk of a so-called palestinian state when there is no palestine nor any palestinians about.

OK, give the Arabs their own land.

Free headstones for all of the residents.

I suspect the Arabs are still stuck most fundamentally, on the rejection that occurred when G-d commanded that Hagar and her son Ishmael be permanently exiled from the family of Abraham...
