The sad thing is most of these shows are akin to watching the French nobility just before the French Revolution.

The US political Old Guard still refuse to open their eyes and see what is going on. Sadly this includes some of the most well know, radio hosts, bloggers and columnists on the Right. They still think of this as just another round in the political game. They still do not realize this is no longer a game, this is war.

The Republic is in danger.

Never in out history has the nation been governed by a group so fundamentally at odds with the values and the beliefs of the average citizen as the 0 Democrats.

In every other election the two sides shared some common values that linked them all as Americans. That is not the case this time. This time it is the Americans vrs the Anti Americans. Between those who value the exceptionalism of the USA and those who wish to destroy that exceptionalism and remake it in the style of a European Democrat Socialist country.

The old guard persists in thinking of this as just another election, just another round in the game where everyone shakes hands afterwords. That is not at all the case. We are now engaged in a remorseless revolutionary struggle where by either the Republic is restored or it is forever lost. This struggle is not going to end with the elections in November, this struggle will be going on for years.

In that struggle there is no middle ground. One is either on our side or against us. I know that is hard for the “can't we all just get along” GOP Establishment types to deal with but that is the reality in US politics we are living these day

What you said! Rush Limbaugh is not one of the radio hosts that treat this as another round in the political game. He's been preaching about much the Republic is in danger. Speaking of preaching......today is Pulpit Freedom Sunday 2010

Agreed. I think this will come to a head in a year and a half or so at the Republican Convention. If the Republican Party is truly run from the ground up, the people at the various precinct caucuses will have a chance to prove we are in charge and not the power elite.

“The US political Old Guard still refuse to open their eyes and see what is going on”

Good post, Johnnie and I agree with you. Unfortunately, some of the ‘Old Guard’ now decide they and the ‘middle of the roaders’ need to be heard more and throw a wrench in the movement (if the LA Times can be believed):

LA Times: Tired of ‘tea party’ sniping, moderates organize
Los Angeles Times ^ | September 25, 2010 | By James Oliphant

Washington — Galvanized by the lightning-in-a-bottle success of conservative “tea party” candidates, moderate Republicans and others in the political center are looking for ways to push back against what they see as an advancing tide of ideological extremism.

“Middle America is being ignored by Washington and the media. Centrists are desperate for a voice today; they feel entirely unrepresented,” said Mark McKinnon, a political strategist and former advisor to President George W. Bush.

“The tea party has tapped into voter frustration and anger,” he said, “but does not represent millions of Americans in the vast middle.”

The moves reflect political divisions that have only grown deeper as tea-party-backed insurgents have toppled candidates supported by the GOP establishment around the country.

Wow! You are so correct, MNJ! If only the ‘elite’, as they consider themselves, would get a clue!

Great post John and right on track.

And, that's how it is. You are either "for" the country as a capitalist/based nation where free men survive or fail in a free market based economy under their under their own destiny or you are a rabid socialist /Marxist where govt. is the "end all be all" and mother of all as in obmaism.

The results are in and zero has lost overwhelmingly!!

Just look at the the mortality within his own regime. It's rats leaving a sinking ship.
