I knew that the race would tighten in the final weeks but I don't think we've seen the real Baker "surge" yet. At this stage in the Scott Brown campaign (six weeks prior to Jan 19), it was still conventional wisdom that the Democrat (Martha Coakley) would win easily.

The Scott Brown campaign didn't catch fire until the final 3-4 weeks.

Most voters in Massachusetts still do not know who Charlie Baker is. Though a lot of them know that they do not want another four years of Deval Patrick, so that's a good thing Baker has going for him.

This whole Tom Cahill candidacy is a smokescreen to get Patrick re-elected. However, it looks like it's not working and Cahill's top campaign workers are now leaving the campaign. Cahill is a Democrat through-and-through and an ally of Deval Patrick, no matter what he says on the campaign trail.

Charlie Baker is no prize package either, but like with Scott Brown, it's much better than the alternative and it will be nice to defeat the Democrat machine once again.

With respect to converting Massachusetts into a red state, it's a long-term proposition. Baby steps...

Baker is a crypto-RomneyCARE crypto-ObamaCARE supporter.

Baker increased premiums on health care by 150% even
when the costs DECREASED.

Baker would not allow a GOP primary to force Romney on the
captive public again.

Baker lies about Cahill who is against RomneyCARE and
is not with Deval Patrick as some here, and Baker, lie about.

How about some truth?

Howie Carr thinks Cahill’s implosion is happening too early. Patrick can now focus on Baker and try to knock him down.

In the Scott Brown race the Globe had a poll just before
the election saying Brown was down by 15. Not sure if I can
trust this poll. I will say that while the old saying goes “Lawn signs don’t vote”, you see a lot more Baker-Tisei
ones than Patrick ones (those, put up usually by hacks,
are starting to show up now). In the 6th district if
lawn signs are an indication, Bill Hudak, whom I helped
to interview on Salem State Radio last week, could beat
incumbent John Tierney. (Howie Carr on Tierney: “He’s
so lightweight he needs to carry rolls of coins in his
pocket so he doesn’t blow over.”)

Some on here are not fond of Baker. The choices come down to him vs. Deval Patrick. You would prefer to have 4 more
years of Deval? More tax increases coming, more hacks,
more big government. Even if Baker is not as good as you say, he can’t be as bad as Deval.

Imagine if Bielat beats Frank in the 4th (longshot) or
Perry beats Keating in the 10th (more likely). Imagine
Polito as next treasurer, Connaughton as next auditor etc

Agreed on baby steps

>>Cahill is a Democrat through-and-through

Cahill said why he left the Dem party. Then on primary day he (Unenrolled) took a Dem ballot because he said he had some
pals he wanted to help. He and Patrick seemed buddy buddy
during the debate. Patrick-Cahill 2010.

Howaya Timmy! How’s the family! Did you go to the tiiiiiiiiiiiiime for our favorite hack? Oh shoo-ah. Don’t
worry, Timmy, we’ll welcome ya back to the Dems wit’ a nice job workin’ for Deval or Barack. Good job Timmy.

Your choices, in effect
PATRICK-D
STEIN-D
CAHILL-D
BAKER-R
