...and from reading more about this it sounds like ‘unearned income’ for those above the ‘threshold’ includes: unemployment income, social security, interest on savings, 401Ks and IRAs, child support, rental property income, stock dividends, etc., PLUS the aforementioned sale of a house.
I don’t want anyone, no matter how high their income level, to pay this outrageous tax! Those in danger of being taxed this way should not be punished for their success!!!!

The income tax was originally sold using the same language "it will only affect the very rich".
The con job is the national media not pointing out how the wealthiest among us already pay a disproportional amount of the tax revenue and the only way to get the money they want is to tax the huge middle class $50K-$250K.
