Andrew Cuomo leads Carl Paladino 57% to 24% in new Siena poll

What a difference a day makes.

A new Siena College poll released Thursday shows Andrew Cuomo with a commanding lead in the governor's race over maverick GOP opponent Carl Paladino a day after a separate poll claimed the race had narrowed dramatically.

Cuomo leads Paladino by a 57% to 24% margin among registered voters, with Conservative party candidate Rick Lazio bringing up the rear at 8%.

The poll is a marked difference than a Quinnipiac survey of likely voters released Wednesday that seemed to shake up the race. That poll had Cuomo ahead of Paladino by a slim 49% to 43% margin. Lazio was not included in the Quinnipiac poll.

"The good news for Paladino is that since last month, he has picked up 10 points against Cuomo," Siena Research Institute spokesman Steven Greenberg said. "The bad news is that he remains far behind."

With 40 days left until the Nov. 2 election, Paladino has time to turn things around but has "a very big hill to climb," Greenberg said.

Cuomo has leads big among Democrats and independents, though 25% are unsure who they are voting for.

Perhaps not surprisingly, Cuomo also has commanding leads in New York City and the suburbs. But he also is ahead 49% to 35% upstate, where Paladino is best known.

DON'T BELIEVE IT!!!

OK Why would I post this "bad news" for Paladino? (I am obviouly a huge supporter)

Because what it says is misleading- there is a 25% UNDECIDED among the democrats polled (the democrats are the ONLY ones who will support cuomo and a quarter of them are undecided) Independants WILL NOT break for Cuomo. Espeically after the debates when it becomes more well know that Andy's fingerprints are ALL OVER the housing crisis that precipitated this economic collapse.

AND that they pushed Paterson out of the race so that Obama could hand-select Cuomo. (How's that- the first black NY GOv push out by the first black President, for a sleazy white guy)

This is also the same Siena poll that had Paladino TIED with LAzio last monday, then on Tuesday Paladino whomped him by 25%

This also shows 14% for Lazio- who will be out of the race soon (trust me on this)

The only issue is that Lazio may think he will get a bigger and better deal from Cuomo if he stays in the race- whereas Paladino will promise him NADA if he drops out.

Lazio AND the so called NY Conservative party needs to be reminded (vigorously) about us watching...

email them and call them

if you sit out this election you deserve what Obama will do to you while Cuomo applies the vaseline.

This is also registered voters, not likely voters. It’s a crappy poll.

I’ve learned that the majority of polls are like politicians—FULL OF LIES.

NOVEMBER 2nd will tell the truth. I can see it from my house! :-)

Why don't they just say it's 98% to 2%?

The whole point of The Big Lie is to make it really Big.

The Siena Poll really, really sucks.

The Siena poll claimed that had Paladino was dead even with Lazio when in fact Paladino crushed Lazio by 25%.

Cuomo's people obviously "cooked the books" and came up with bogus poll results to show their man? with a commanding lead. Probably all BULLSH!T.

Lazio needs to do the honorable thing, and get out of the way for Paladino.

NY Establishment GOP and Conservative party are wholly owned subsidiaries of Sheldon Silver

The PEOPLE told the GOP party to go to heck last tuesday and they will do it again 9and the democraps too) in November

The conservative Party needs ALL OF YOU TO CALL THEM AND COMPLAIN!!!!!!!!! That RINO Lazio is NO CONSERVATIVE

When I complained to the GOP party I got a response from them: “Go vote democrat then” (ACTUAL RESPONSE- I HAVE IT SAVED!!! the GOP person who wrote it was ACarrey from their web site)

I Immediately joined Paladino supporters and made a nice donation.

Lots of ‘registered’ voters always find a way of finding other things to do than vote. Give me a poll with ‘likely’ voters or you can put your poll into the trash where it belongs.

Its obviously garbage, Paladino may be behind but its nowhere near 2 to 1. No matter though, Paladino is Cuomo’s worst nightmare and no poll is going to stop that. What a fun show to watch, among several fun shows going on out there.

This poll is not lying in the least, and Cuomo is so far ahead
that it is not at all necessary for all Democrat voters to show up to vote on Election day, stay home have a can of Malt and relax.

WHY hasn’t the Conservative Party endorsed Paladino?

Makes no sense whatsoever. This is too important to play politics.

Rest easy Two days before the election they had Lazio beating Paladino 43% to 42%

The end result two days later was Paladino 63% to Lazio 37%.

Who gets paid to poll this badly?
