WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Republican Senator John McCain expects many U.S. Republicans to seek the party's presidential nomination in 2012.
"I think there's going to be 1,000 flowers bloom," he said Monday at the annual Washington Reuters Summit.
McCain, who won the nomination in 2008 and went on to lose to Democrat Barack Obama in the presidential election, did not predict who he thought might run.
"I think it's too early," he said.

McCain's advice to Republicans: Keep your eye on New Hampshire.

"For Republicans it seems to me that New Hampshire is still the very key place," McCain said.

New Hampshire, eh? I wonder who is campaigning in New Hampshire...could it be one Mitt Romney?
Mark my words: should Palin run, McCain will stab her in the back and in the face while pushing RINOs like Romney, and Palin will have no one to blame but herself for electorally supporting a known backstabber.
Afterwards, hundreds of thousands went to see Palin and McCain was the person who would have been elected with her.
He knows it and can't stand it.
Its too bad the public does not see his huge character deficit.
BTW, I don't expect McCain to support Romney, he'll stab him in the back too, McCain will be backing Pawlenty. He's been mentoring him for years.
Since spending $21 million dollars to defeat JD Hayworth in the Republican primary, Arizonans have heard not a single peep from Old Man Juan. He hasn’t spent a dollar since. Who is the enemy to scum like Juan? It certainly isn’t the Commucrats. I wouldn’t be surprised if he jumped parties after winning. I can’t even tell you the name of his opponent because we haven’t heard a thing from either of them.
In 2008 it was obvious the GOP really wanted Rudy. Their back up was McLame because it was his turn.
The establishment owes Romney, but I am sure they have a backup choice this go around.
I wonder who?
McCain is a RINO. There is no loyalty. It is all about McQueeg. Remember he could no wait to get on all the Sunday Morning talk show and stab George Bush in the back. His dimoKKKRAT buddies and the msm were just lapping it all up. He was their hero.
Now McCain is quoting Chairman Mao. And like with Mao, there's a hidden threat in the phrase...

Anyone who would take McCain’s advice is either stupid, a fool, or a stupid fool.

He will do exactly that.
I see McShame on the ash-heap of history as being nothing more than a cheap opportunist; scoring less than even that of Walter Mondale or Jimmy Carter.
"They are going to let us screw them all again."
Just as Romney will basically concede Iowa without saying so, the more Conservative candidates will concede NH to Romney or whoever fills the RINO vacuum instead of him.
It is South Carolina, not NH, that has traditionally determined the winner. McCain just credits NH because it resuscitated him twice; it won't be reviving any half-dead RINOs this time around because Romney enters as the odds-on favorite to be the nominee. The pivotal point of the 2012 GOP race will be SC, the first primary state that will really be in question.
McCain's day has passed; and though he may not endorse Palin (or anyone at all in the primaries), you can bet you bottom dollar he'll only be endorsing someone who endorsed him during his run.
obsolete, senior rino
mccain.
mccain is an old woman

I wonder if the former Hanoi Hilton POW knows the source of that?
“Let one hundred flowers bloom, let one hundred schools of thought contend.” - Mao Tse Tung
It was a political trap to flush out non-conformists within Communist China. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hundred_Flowers_Campaign Probably a peculiar coincidence, but creepy none the less. Definitely creepy.
I wish JD would run on the “I” ticket - i think many dems voted for Juan in the primary.
Since that isn’t going happen - I wish AZ would vote Mr$50LettuceHead out. JUST DO IT!! He’s only going to screw them, again, and the rest of the country.
“In 2008 it was obvious the GOP really wanted Rudy.”
I thought they wanted Romney. Whichever, it was easily and without a doubt the most demoralizing and wretched presidential season I have ever seen.
