I'm going by the dictionary definition of "idiot". He's not foolish, mentally retarded or " having a mental age of less than three years old and an intelligence quotient under 25." My point is, we really need to get off this idea of his intelligence if we're to understand and discuss him. He's not that way. What he is is scheming, hateful and deceitful. But he's not an idiot. To continue referring to him as such demeans our arguments.
